Im working on it. Smile Are modern-day type fairy tails with metaphors acceptable? I mean the type that doesn't have steryotypical princesses. Smile

I have an idea, and a rough draft, but I'm nowhere near to being done. I'm leaving tommorrow on a vacation though, so if I don't finish soon enough, I'll miss the deadline. Sad I'll be back next week, if Its possible to get an extension. I'll understand if you don't want to though.

See ya!

One of the rules of the contest is that it can't be set in modern time, but as long as it's not tooooooo modern thats perfectly fine. Don't worry about missing the deadline, I don't have very many entries so I'll probably have to extend it even farther. Please, please enter!!!!!!!!!!! I can wait a week. Very Happy Looking forward to reading your piece!

It is set in a modern time, but in a very rural area, without most modern conveniences. Acceptable? Im almost done. Smile

Is the fairytale meant to take place on earth, or can it take place in a fantasy world...?

That's probably a stupid question, but i got the impression it was meant to be on earth... -___-;;

I might try and have a shot at it later...though I lack originality, so it will probably fail! ^^

(...also, fairytale wouldn't stretch to cover myth would it? xD)

Hi,
Is it to late to enter? I might enter something. I was suppose to enter something in the V-day contest, but I ran out of time. I don't know if i'll have enough time to enter this one, because I have an exam coming up. Also, how do you get into to contest. Like on the top of the page when you click writing, and stuff, where would I find contest to?

yours truly,
lg*

Plus-One- No, it does not have to take place on earth, and yes, myth would work too.

lakegirls- definately not too late to enter, please do? You don't have to do anything to enter, just PM an entry to me, or post it here.

Hi, So This is what I have so Far in my story. I am planning to write more since we have loads more time. Tell me What you Think please Smile Also, please help me come up with a title

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl. She lived a hard life (being beautiful) and she wasn’t treated fairly. But one day a handsome prince came and swept her onto his noble steed, and made her his princess and they lived happily ever after… Sound familiar?

Even though this starts of like your typical fairy tale, with the beautiful princess and the handsome prince, it is not. In the land where I live (Antithesis Village) this is not how our fairy tale is. You see, everything here is not what it’s supposed to be.

The princess of this Village is, well how do I put it nicely U-G-LY! And this is I being nice. I know, it’s not looks that matter, (My mother has to said this to me on my occasions) but well this princess is the most horrible creature you could ever meet. I would be nicer then her and I am the Village’s pessimist (The princess likes to give out cute little names so she doesn’t have to remember all her loyal subjects real ones, like it’s that hard).

This princess is down right disgusting, she has the most ugly hair (booger green with red highlights, can you say “Nose bleed?”) and she has this huge wart on her nose that no matter how many docs’ she sees will not come off (I pity the prince who has to look at it everyday) and her skin is like sand paper because it is so rough and discoloured.

I normally would not speak of one of my Royal Highness this way, but on this occasion I will, considering she is my most favourite (not my sarcasm) cousin. Yes ladies and gents, the Royal Bitch of the town is my relative, but she is the cruelest, down right butt ugly person I have ever met (This is saying something considering I live with my sister). Let’s give this Royal B a nickname, shall we? How about Capt. UB, or UGLY (Personally I like UB, Ugly Bitch)

Let me think of how this all started. Well I think it was somewhere back in 3rd grade on Saint Valentines Day (My most favourite holiday ever)

To Be Continued…
