Jason was lost in his own mind. A void of nothing but darkness surrounded him. Gasping for a breath it felt as if nothing filled his lungs. Grasping his throat he felt as if he would suffocate, but he didn’t. It felt to his as if he was floating for hours hovering between life and death. Screaming he felt like he would go mad. That was until a voice answered his call for help.

“So you live?”

At first he thought it was all in his head, but when he heard it again he knew it wasn’t an illusion. Crying out again he asked for help.

“If you seek freedom, I can show you the way, but first, a test. Is seeing believing, or is believing seeing?”

Jason was thrown back at the question. He had no idea what was going on. After hearing that he knew he was in a dream, just a bad dream at that he would wake up. But he didn’t.

“So you need to see to believe, very well.”

A bright light blinded Jason. When it was over he breathed a breath of relief. At first he thought he had awakened being able to inhale again, but when he opened his eyes all he saw was a meadow. Struggling to his feet he looked around. Nothing but grass as far as the eye can see.

Another flash hit Jason’s eyes, but this one was much shorter. Opening them again the scene had completely changed. The green grass was gone, nothing but dust and ruble remained. A great gust of wind blew getting sand in his eyes. Putting his arm up he tried to shield himself, but to no avail. The storm knocked he off his feet and onto the ground. Struggling not to be swept away he tried to grab onto something. Only catching dirt he was sent flying.

When he finally slid to a stop he moaned in pain. Breathing heavily he looked up to see a horrible scene. People were every where, they were dieing. Strange creatures were slashing at them with claws. They had pitch black skin, cracked in places and covered in the blood of there victims. Red, blood thirsty eyes were all you could remember before you left the world behind. Their tail was pointed at the end and three toes sharp as well as their teeth. It seemed as if every part of their body was a weapon.

ason tried to get to his feet, but failed. He was shaking with fear. At last he managed to get to his hands and knees, but vomited from all the blood shed and fell back down. Rolling over he tried to lose himself still believing it was all just a bad dream, but it still wouldn’t go away.

Suddenly a hand grasped his throat. Grabbing the arm he tried to get it off. With the hand not letting go Jason coughed blood before being pulled to his feet. Gasping for air he tried to look at the figure that had him by the neck. With his vision impaired he couldn’t make out a clear image.

The dark figure pulled Jason close and spoke into his ear, “The future is upon you.” It dropped Jason to the ground and kicked him in the stomach. Rolling over he hugged his gut. Breathing heavily he turned his head. At last he could see, but at once he wished he hadn’t. the dark figure was a mirror image of himself, only deformed. Grey cracked skin covered his body and blood shot eyes piercing at Jason’s soul.

Jason awoke to be breathing irregularly. Grasping his throat and other parts of himself he tried to see if he was really awake. After pinching himself a few times he knew he was awake.

He took a glance around the room he was in. A white curtain surrounded him. The air was slightly cold, but he was covered with blankets. Looking to his side he saw a table with a glass of water on it. Just then he realized how thirsty he really was. Taking the cup he woofed it down. Coughing he whipped his mouth and put the cup back.

He heard the curtain shudder and looked to see a young woman standing there. She wore white clothes and a sky blue apron. That’s when he realized he was in the hospital.

“Oh dear, you’re awake?” Said the women looking surprised. “Wait here.” She walked off leaving Jason there alone.

Looking down he tried to recap what happened, but his mind went blank. That’s when he noticed his left hand was clenched. Slowly opening it he tried to straiten out his fingers. It was difficult because the finger were stiff as ice. When he finally got it open his necklace was there, starring him in the face. That’s when he remembered what happened. The book, the pain, and then, darkness. A shiver ran up his spine as he recalled the events of the dream. Starring at the stone he wondered why it felt so real.

“Jason.”

He looked up to see his Uncle standing there with tears in his eyes. Jason wouldn’t have looked so surprised, but one thing caught his eye. His Uncle had shaved. That’s something he never did unless he had to.

Uncle John embraced him with all his might knocking the wind out of Jason. Breathing irregularly he hugged back. Letting go John put his hands on Jason’s shoulders, “You alright?”

Jason faintly smiled back, “Yeah, I’m okay know.” he may of said that, but on the inside he felt completely different. He felt cold and empty, like something was missing. Breathing he saw his breath, like it was really cold outside. Putting his hand over his mouth he looked at his Uncle, “What’s happening to me?”

Before his Uncle could answer Jason felt like he was hit in the head and fell out cold once again, slipping into his mind once more.

“A future you will never escape has began,. your destiny will un fold, and you will be thrown into darkness,” was the last thing Jason heard.

This is going to sound harsh. This one was the not the best. I thought it could it have used more plot overview. Who was the "dark figure?" That said, I will read more. I also found some of the old stuff like spelling mistakes you should clear up.
