What the hell is she thinking? What is she gonna do, who she gonna kill?

She grabbed him and led him out the back door, Justin staring as they left.

"We are close. No need for a car." She said as Ronny looked at Althea's car lustingly.

"So close."

What could he do? She got him now, he can't do anything. Althea's good, but crazy.

Suddenly he wringed himself out of ehr reach and pulled out his pistol at her.

"Tell me." He said. "T-t-tell me ev-verything!"

Althea dropped her arms to her side, with a long, drawn out sigh. They really didn't have time to have a chit-chat. They had somewhere to be. And if they didn't make it, well, she didn't want to see that happen. She had to get them both there.

"Ronny, we don't have time to play games. We need to go."

Althea tried to push the gun out of her face, but Ronny grabbed her wrist and forcefully let go.

"No. Te-tell me what is going on. If you don't, I'll go back to Brian and tell him what you are doing. Do you want that?"

Althea clenched her fists. That little snot. After all that she was trying to do for him, he was going to threaten her like this. How dare he.

"Do you really want to know why it's you I'm taking with me tonight?"

"Ye-yes. Tell me. Now."

Althea folded her switchblade and stuck in up her shirt sleeve. She pushed a loose piece of hair that had fallen out of its bun away from her eyes and then placed both hands on her hips.

"Brian and I had a little talk tonight. You know that. You also know that I'm going to be joint leading with Brian."

"Yes."

"So, what else do you need to know."

Ronny's eyes got big. "Don't play with me Althea. Tell me why you are taking me with you!"

Althea took a deep breathe in. Ronny had to lay off those drugs. They were really turning him into a mad man.

"Okay, I'll tell you. Just relax," Althea slowly placed her hand on Ronny's gun, lowering it. "Brian is scared, Ronny. He's afraid that is world is falling apart and there is nothing he can do about it. He was hesitant to even let me be joint leader with him. But he gave in. But you see, Ronny feels the same way that I do about you. We think you... well, you're... you're drifting and Brian's paranoid as it is right now. Before I left, he told me that if he saw you again with those other gang members without his permission, that... well... he was going to kill you. And a part of me thinks that he saw you with Kurokawa tonight. He might be coming after us. That is why we couldn't use the car."

"You mean--"

"Yes, Brian wants you dead. Brian wants everyone who we can't trust in the gang gone. You remember Stephanie's little sister Beth, right?"

"Yeah."

"Well, Brian was scared that she was leaking information to the other gangs. I know for a fact that she wasn't, but he would not listen to me. He killed her Ronny." Althea's eyes went soft. "You have to listen to me. If I can prove to Brian that you are not trying to flee from the gang, then maybe he won't come after you. Maybe you'll be saved. I just-- I don't want anymore Eagle blood on my hands."

Ronny stared at Althea for a few moments. Then he cocked his gun. "I'll come with, we just--we have to be careful who we kill. We don't want to destroy any alliances we've made. We could use them right now."

Althea nodded. "I'll get you out of this, Ronny."

With that Althea and Ronny began to walk farther into the dark alley.

Kurokawa actually felt a little bad for Tanya; the Skyline had always been her prized possession. Tanya always raced with that car every time, and it was a pity to see it gone.

"Well now, doesn't that suck?" She didn't say it with sarcasm, like she normally does, but she actually meant it. Chad and Jason would occasionally glance over at her, just to make sure she was ok.

"Yeah, but now I got me a beautiful new Viper." (correct me if I'm wrong) Tanya grinned maliciously.

"Good to see I have some competition on the curves." Kurokawa flipped her hair over her shoulder tauntingly. She loved to tease Tanya.

He put his gun back into his belt. There were so many things he wanted to yell at Brain, that bastard. Althea saved his life. That was her reason to co-lead the gang with Brian!

He followed her through alleys, and every minute that passed the pandemonium was growing louder.

Then she ran behind a tree and looked.

There they were. Two cars. Vroom, vroom. People talking.

Kurokawa was there too.

Althea stopped suddenly. There were the cars. It looked like they were getting ready to race. Althea looked over her shoulder at Ronny, crouched down behind her.

"Are you ready, Ronny?"

He nodded, wide eyed. He looked alert, on the attack.

"If I say fire, you have to shoot. You understand that, right?"

This time, Ronny's response wasn't so quick. Instead of keeping his eyes focused on Althea's, they shifted to the ground.

Althea turned to Ronny, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Listen, I know about our alliances. I do. And I expect to keep them, but I'm not sure what is going to happen tonight. We may have to protect ourselves... regardless of alliances. Like I said, there will be no more Eagle blood on my hands tonight. We both live or we both die. Because I will not have you going back to Brian telling him that I'm dead. And I know he's expecting, well, hoping for you're death, so I want to prove him wrong. We have to do this. No hesitations. Understand?"

Ronny looked up from the ground, and towards something past Althea. After staring for a few moments, his voice became stronger than what his face was giving off. "Let's go."

With that cue, Althea took a bobby pin from off of her skirt belt and pinned all loose hair on the top of her head. She took out the switchblade from her blouse sleeve and flipped it open.

"Come on. Let get them before they start the race."

With that, Ronny took his gun out of his belt and walked out from the shadows of the trees. He lifted the gun into the air and let out a shot that seemed to echo for miles.

Kurokawa was talking to Jamey when a loud gun shot was heard, and Jason's lean body flew against hers, knocking her to the ground. They hit the ground with a thud, Jason's body protecting hers. It knocked the breath out of her for a moment.

"Jesus, what the hell?" They waited for a minute to listen for more gunshots, but nothing seemed to happen. Jason stood, and helped Kurokawa up. She dusted herself off and looked around; Ronny was now visible, holding a gun in his hand.

Looking over, she saw one of her men lying on the ground...but he was bleeding severely out of his lower back. Her eye twitched; She was going to kill him. She slung open her car door and snatched out her old wooden Louisville Slugger. She hastily moved over to Ronny and Althea, smashing the bat into the side of his gun, sending it flying across the road. Althea reached for her knife, but Kurokawa held the tip of the bat at her face.

"This...is all your fault. Give me one good reason not to kill you right now." Anger was carving lines into her face, and radiating out of her skin. She knew Althea was behind all of this. No one tried to stop her.

Tylar

When the gun shot went off, I swayed forward but Pyro planted a firm hand on upon my shoulder. I shook it away but nodded reluctantly. It was the memory of that stury, confident hand that kept me from running forward when the knives were pulled but I did edge a little closer so that I was standing within the inner ring that surrounded the four participants - Jason, Kurokawa, Ronny and Althea. Some words were exchanged between the two females with Althea held at knife point until, with a snarl, Kurokawa pushed her away and they circled like lions. No. Not just lions. Female lions.

At last, Kurokawa turned away and stalked towards the crowd. Towards me. People stepped back to allow her a passage through but few were quick enough to catch the site of the blade. I don't know why I did it. But a few moments later, feeling slightly dazed, I found myself stood a full step away from all other observers and holding a dagger - Ronny's - by the blade, crimson tears staining my fingers. Pyro had not moved, well trained as he was, but he was alert and his hand was more than half way to a weapon.

I discarded the dagger and turned to find that Kurokawa was still there despite Jason's urging that they should leave.

"My thanks. I'm glad I didn't have to see that planted in my bodyguard's chest." She looked at me as she spoke and I felt very exposed, stood there, in the middle of a dispute with both sides inspecting me.

"He wouldn't have got there in time," I mumbled. Jason's ears pricked up and he snarled but his master motioned him back and raised her eyebrow. "And madam, in case you have forgotten, these two seem to wish you dead so it's best that you leave now."

"Yeah," Her eyes scanned down Tylar, wondering why he had saved them, "I guess I should leave. With a stunt like that, you should too." Her bat hung lazily from her hand now, as she turned to leave.

"Oh, and another thing," She turned to Ronny and Althea, "If I see either of you at the nightclub...you're mine." She narrowed her eyes for a moment, then turned back towards her car and continued walking. She knew they wouldn't be dumb enough to shoot her. Besides, she thought she had given Tyler a good enough hint when she said that to Ronny and Althea.

"Let's go." Chad and Jason were already getting into the Z by the time she got there. Kurokawa climbed into the drivers seat and started car, taking off down the crowded street. She pulled up at the nightclub and got out of the car. She went inside, sat a booth and waited...

"You coming?" I hissed as Pyro fell into step behind me.

"To her club?" He asked. I nodded ever so slightly.

"Naturally but you'd better go inside on your own," Pyro suggested.

"Good idea." We turned down alleys and I was soon able to walk unoticed by the crowds if not entirely forgotten. We got in the car, parked a few blocks away from the club and walked in silence down to the large, familiar building.

"Just shout if you need me," Pyro declared, already pulling a phone from his pocket to ring back up.

"I'll be fine," I replied. "Afterall, I just saved her life." Pyro nodded and I clasped his hand for a moment before slipping inside. As I ordered a drink at the bar, I scanned the tables. She was near the back. I headed over and sat opposite her. She sipped her drink and I sipped mine before either of us spoke.

"You wanted to talk?" I asked.

"Why the hell did you do that?" She yelled at Ronny.

They were running down the alleyways, as far away from the bar as possible, towards his apartment.

"I...you told me!"

"What did I tell you?"

"To shoot!"

She stopped, he stopped too, and she reached her hand and slapped him. "Don't you blame it on me! We killed an ally back there. Do you hear me? We could have done so much with them, we could have destroyed the Cobra gang, everyone else but us, we could have lived forever! But now you went and destroyed everything we had."

Ronny squinted, even though it was dark, and walked straight, away from Althea. "You know what?" he said, not looking back. "It was all your fault. You wanted to kill someone, right? You had the idea, you explicitly told me to kill someone."

At that moment Althea stopped trailing after Ronny. "I saved your life."

Ronny turned around. It was the first time ever that he saw Althea hurt in any way. "F*** you. The one thing we learned was to save our own backs. Don't bend down to someone. You are the only one responsible for your life."

"Ronny...I am you. You are me. We are the Eagles. I watch your back, you watch mine."

Ronny spit on the ground, he was so neurotic his arms quivered. "Kill Brian then. Brian isn't watching my back. I am him."

"You know I'll never do that!"

Ronny took a long, hard glance at Althea and continued walking down the street. Once in his apartment he took a hit and started thinking.

He needed Althea, but she thought he was just a dog, she thought he was low. He wans't stupid. He shot a Kadikoy. He wanted to be an ally with Kurokawa.

But there are no more chances; now, it's every gang for its own.

Tiny

Killer stopped in the racing area and looked around, it was quiet no one around.

"I thought there was supposed to be a fight here." She said quietly.

"I did too, the Darks against someone, maybe Kadikoy." Killer replied his brow furrowing. "That means someone was killed, we better get out of here." He drove away.

"Go to the Kadikoy club." She said,

"Hell no am I taking you there." He hissed,

"Then find a club, I need a drink, nothing big just something to make me sleep." She smiled, he grunted and drove to club. She walked in and sat at the bar. Killer sat down at a table and kept an eye on her odering a small coke while Tiny just got a shot of whiskey.

"Ain't many people just get a plain shot." The bar tender laughed,

"Its a habit." She replied letting it burn her throat as she poured it down her throat. She set the cup down and walked over to where Killer was sitting. "So, tomorrow a war breaks out if it hasn't already."

"If anything had happened in the Cobras you would know." He said looking around. "Keep an eye out for Antonio's friend, Caleb was it, I think he will be a good allie. He might not be in control of a gang, but he is a good man."

((Sorry I've been gone so long...))

Tanya

I had never been more pissed in my life. The whole race was called off because of that idiotic Ronny kid. All that preparation and the perfect chance to race the Drift Queen Kurokawa, and some boy ruins it.

I finished putting the Viper into it's garage and headed over to the junkyard with my machete and M16. I settled on the VW Bug that was beyond repair. I gashed open the tires and bashed the windows with the hilt of my machete. I finally threw down the blade and raised my M16, filling the side of the car with bullet holes.

I fired my last round and stood, out of breath, staring at the demolished vehicle. My rage still wasn't gone. That fool had attempted to shoot Kurokawa, and the friend I had locked away so long ago, finally broke out. I was gonna kill that pistol-packing pipsqueek for messing up the biggest night of my life and trying to kill Kurokawa.

A hand touched my shoulder and I spun to face Tony.

"Hey. You okay?" He said. Worry filled his gorgeous green eyes, but my rage was still hot.

"I'm pissed and ready to kill." I said darkly, grabbing my machete up and storming toward the garage.

Althea stood in the dark alley and watched as Ronny walked away from her. It was cold outside and as she stood there, it began to rain. Her auburn hair turned to a brown and red mop on top of her head. She felt more alone then ever. What had she done? It wasn't supposed to happen like this. It just wasn't. She began to cry, right there in the middle of that dark alley. Why was this happening? It wasn't supposed to be like this.

Althea began to run back towards her car, through skinny side streets, and around the dark corners, until she finally came upon her mercedes. She hopped in and started the ignition. She sat in the car crying, for what seemed like hours, until her phone rang.

"Brian?"

It was him. She breathed a sigh of relief.

"No, I'm not okay. I can't drive right now. I'm going to need you to take me home." -"I'm in the alley next to the club. Just hurry, please."

Althea flipped her phone shut, ending the call. In a matter of seconds, Brian had pulled up in his blue mazda miata. He got out of the car, not bothering to shut off the car. He ran up to the side of Althea's mercedes and bent down, putting his hand on her cheek.

"Althea, what happened?"

She didn't know what to tell him. She was so confused, so lost. And a part of her didn't want to accept that she was perhaps a bigger failure than he. "So-someone--they di-died. Ro--ronny killed so-someone."

Brian's eyes glazed. "I told you he was no good. Didn't I! Now I've got to get rid of him."

Brian opened the door and gently pulled Althea out of the seat. He took Althea into his arms. "I'll make this right for you. I promise."

Althea sunk into his chest. She was in so much pain, and the night wasn't even over. God, what had she gotten herself into?

Brian and Althea walked slowly to Brian's car. "We're going to go and take care of this. Don't worry."

With that, he opened the passenger side of his miata and Althea slide into the seat. Brian looked at her, speaking softly. "Can you tell me where your car keys are?"

Althea nodded. "They're in my purse in the backseat."

Brian kissed Althea's forehead and then shut the car door. She watched as he walked to the front of his car, talking to Pete. Pete handed over a gun and walked over to Althea's car. Brian stared at the gun for a moment and then proceeded to get into the car with Althea. When he had shut the car door, he turned to her.

"Take this. You'll need it."

Althea looked at the gun. She hated those things. Only cowards used them.

"What am I supposed to do with it?"

"You're just going to use this to protect yourself. That's all."

Althea gave a slight nod and took the gun, placing it in her lap. Brian shifted the gears and they began to back out of the alley. She knew exactly where they were going.

As they drove, Brian explained to her that she was going to stay with him for a while because he didn't think it was safe for her to be by herself. He then told her that pete and sarah would take care of her car for her.

"No worries, baby," he said, patting her leg gently.

They had reached holten street. This is where Ronny lived. Althea looked at Brian. He couldn't do this.

"Brian, maybe you should think about this."

He suddenly stopped in front of an apartment building. There's nothing to think about. He put your life in danger. He's gone."

Brian began to get out of the car, but Althea grabbed his arm. "You don't understand! I told him to shoot! I messed up, Brian, not Ronny! You have to understand! Don't kill him!"

Brian shook Althea's hands off of his arm and slammed the door behind him. She watched as he entered the apartment building's front doors. Althea sat in the car and began to weep. What had she done? Why did she feel the need to prove herself? Wasn't she happy with Brian before?

And then she understood. This had nothing to do with owning the streets or killing anyone. She wanted to be rid of Brian. She wasn't happy anymore.

Althea wipped her eyes and got out of the car, gun in hand. She ran into the apartment building, running up two flights of stairs to get to Ronny's apartment. She saw that the door was slightly ajar. She slowly pushed it open and saw Brian with his gun pointed at Ronny. Ronny looked like he had seen death, and he was about to.

"I'm tired of your little games, Ronny. You almost got my girl killed tonight. I can't have that. I can't have you in the Eagles anymore."

The next thing that was heard was a gun shot, and then Brian's body hitting the floor. Althea stood there, shivering in fear, holding the gun Brian had gotten for her so that she could protect herself. And that was exactly what she was doing.

Althea slowly let her arm drop to her side. She stared at the ground for a few seconds, but looked up when Ronny said her name.

"Althea, what did you do that for?"

His voice wasn't angry, just confused.

Althea looked up at him, not caring if there was fear in her eyes. "You wanted power, now you have it. Fix this."

"Grab one end of the bag."

They dumped the body in the stream next to Sixty-Second St. and he drove to one of their friends' place. There was no other place to go: if they went to one of their apartments, it was a sure way to commit suicide, and they had to go to someone who was not involved in anything, someone who was an Eagle, but a quiet, friendly, unthreatening Eagle, someone that never killed someone from another gang, someone who they could trust without risking their life.

Danny was the perfect man.

Ronny parked in his driveway. The house was a one story, two-bedroom house. Althea was a close friend of Danny, Ronny and Danny were pals from high-school, but never liked the same things.

Althea, her face still wet, turned around towards Ronny (who turned the engine off) and said, "I am sorry Ronny. So sorry. We...I just can't do this alone. You're strong. I am weak. It's such a terrible thing I've done... I just wanted to save you! You're so strong Ronny."

"I am strong? Ha! And what are you? Superwoman?"

She looked him in te eye. "But I made the mistake."

"No, Althea. It is not your fault. It's Brian's."

She looked away and thought to herself. Ronny knew it was right. The Eagles were weaker, more vulnerable when Brian was around. Now they could change everything.

He locked the car and paced to the doorway. After knocking three times, ringing the bell five times, and thumping on the bedroom window, Danny finally woke up and opened the front door.
