"I can't reach Fire." She whispered,
"Shh," He replied,
"Come on, Cara, you can't stay with them." THe mage hissed anger pouring out of his voice. She clutched Christian tighter closing her eyes and yelling at her feet that wanted to go to him. To protect Christian. Her gut knew the mage would just kill him anyways, but her mind wouldn't except it making her want to go to the mage to protect him. Her hand went to her side where a dagger was and her fingers wrapped around it. She was going to protect Christian like he did her. She wasn't going to be useless. |

"Cara.." Christian's voice held warning. She took a deep breath and let her ears pick up noise. The mage was a few feet away. She tilted her head so she could see him. He was one of the the bigger ones, her heart dropped this was going to be harder then she thought.
Why won't you leave me alone!! She screamed at him in her head.
Because you will ruin everything. You should've have told them. Now they will have to die. He replied laughing harshly. Of course, if you come with us, and we erase their memories we won't hurt them.

Ramere-
A small, faint squeal tugged at my consciousness, bringing me awake in an instant. I jumped to my feet, feeling the silver dagger at my side. I grabbed it instinctively and whirled around.
A mage stood in front of Cara and Christian. Caspan and Kayla were off a bit to the side. The mage was built more like a swordsman than a mage, with broad shoulders, bulging arms, and a massive chest. He carried a sword across his back, no doubt enchanted, and carried a light brown staff in his hand. His eyes and hair were both a dark brown.
I cursed. There wasn't an odd feel about him, like I had felt with the decoys and hadn't been able to place. This was a flesh and blood, living being.
This was the real thing. And it was powerful.
Very powerful. Matching my own skills, perhaps even more powerful. Plus, he was stronger physically, meaning me could probably manage a few extra spells before he wore out.
A frightening thought.
I went to stand next to Christian, my gaze never leaving the mage who stood sneering at us the whole time. It was easy enough to detect his mental conversation with Cara. I hoped she had the sense not to do anything foolish, or to give into the mages wishes.
That was the last thing we needed. |

You leave me no choice! The mage growled at her. She shrunk deeper into Christian's arms. One more chance, come here or they DIE

SHe tried to free herself, I held on tighter. "No!" I shouted lifting her off her feet. She still struggled, but it was harder now.
"I won't let you die!"
"I know you won't sweetheart, but I won't let you die to save me."
I felt the mage's presence in my mind, so I focused on Cara, nothing else. If I knew my family~and I did~They were doing something to help. Already carrying Cara I flew away.
Kayla
The moment Christian left with Cara Caspan and Ramere attacked, Ramere with a spell and Caspan with a weapon. I wished I had one to help with as well. I spotted the dagger lying on the ground not far from where Christian had once been. I made my way over to it and grabbed it. |

Cara clung to Christian as he jumped into the air. She could feel the wind rushing past her as tears streamed down her face. THey would get hurt, she knew they would.
"Christian, why are you making me leave. I could've spared you." She cried clinging to him. "Please, I don't want them hurt!" |

Cara nodded clutching his neck. She watched as the ground flew past them below them. She didn't mind the heights as long as they were staying even with the ground. She sighed laying her head against his chest. "I'm sorry." She whispered, "I didn't mean to make you mad."

FIRE! Oh boy did you miss it. Where are you? She demanded,
Locked up by a bunch of mages in some tower. They said something about a wolf with wings was worth studing or something of that sort. I dont care I want OUT!
We're headed that way. Don't worry. I'll tell Christian in a little bit. She blocked him from her mind glad to know he was ok. |

Cara sighed, "I'm still sorry. As I said before. I can be stupid." She smiled looking up at him. Her stomach dropped as he started to descend. She burried her face in his chest.
"Cara, look." He laughed. She listened, it was the least she could to sense she had been stupid. Her stomach slowly got used to the descent and she rested her head on his chest watching everythign flash by. |
