Chapter 16
Jared glared at Raed, he’d still not forgiven the man for that humiliation. The smugness that Raed emitted was stifling. Everyone time Jared had tried to speak, but he had been silenced like a common mongrel.
The room was wooden paneled, with a miniature chandelier. Right at the end stood Raed at the podium. There was three rows of seats, all men, except Lady Grevan. She was wearing some animal as her shawl and her face was intricately covered with layers of make up all over her face. She would have been pretty if it wasn’t for constant saccharine smile. Most of the other men were between thirty to seventy all were corrupt, but none had been corrupt as long as Jared. He smirked as he remembered his father finally realizing he had been poisoning him, the old fool should of killed him when he had the chance. The nanny she knew nothing, it had been a stand off, one waiting for other to act. The father had acted but had been stopped, he’d acted and succeeded. The world was only fit for the strong and cunning, he’d out smart anyone who tried to prevent him; in anything.
A voice interrupted his thoughts, “Now you may speak Jared, hurry up before I change my mind!”
Jared came out his daze and stood up, “You know how we’re having problems getting recruits…”
Raed rolled his eyes and interrupted, “Really boy you are smart!”
Jared glared in Raed’s direction but continued, “As I was saying we’ve problem getting recruits, I propose…”
Raed grinned horribly, “Hurry up and spit it out!”
Jared clenched his fist but still wouldn’t give Raed the pleasure of losing it, “I propose a immediate remedy to that, my plan is…
Raed whistled boredly, “Just spit the damn thing out!”
Jared growled clenching and unclenching it, he’d kill Raed no matter what, “My plan is to use a resource which is plentiful…”
Raed yawned uninterested, “I’m waiting!”
Jared growled and leant as if he was going to pounce, “You got anything you want to say!”
Raed put his hands up in mock surrender and replied, “No, no, no do continue.”
Jared stared angrily at Raed looking smug and proud, how he so wanted to kill him, “I propose we round up all the scum of streets and send them packing for war.”
Raed smirked a sort of patronizing smile appearing, “Well done, oh well done, we can finally begin this people Jared has finally caught up with our superior minds!”
The whole room began to laugh, a low horrible laughter followed by a chorus of humiliating chortles.
Jared crossed the room until he was infront of Raed on the podium, “I’ll kill you, and I’ll do it all while you can still see, I’ll rip out your internal organs and show you them before throwing them on your face and watching you suffocate on your own parasitic blood.”
Raed frowned, “Do I need to discipline you again?”
Jared went to his belt ready to draw his knife, when common sense stopped him, he’d kill him and make sure he could see all of it. Raed smiled smugly, “I thought so Jared, now sit like the dog you are!”
Jared backed off with a threatening look and retreated into his own seat. Raed stood up smiling smugly at Jared, “Now to begin my plan!”

Tea and Eolen looked in the kitchen; it was luckily abandoned, although you could never be sure about anything in this house. Eolen made the signal for her to stay. She nodded, an excited smile on her face, he was actually rescuing her. He returned a while later, “It’s empty, although I’m not so sure it’s safe.” He brushed his red fringe out his gorgeous emerald eyes and cautiously led her round holding her outstretched arm tight.
Following Eolen round the corner the smell of amazing cooking hit her nostrils; it was so amazing she felt light in the head. Tea turned to Eolen staring with wide open eyes full of innocents and persuasion, “It’s empty my love, I’ve not eaten in so long, so aromatic, please!”
Eolen smiled warmly at her keenness, “I’m starving… so first one there.”
Tea only had a second to figure it out when Eolen ran past her smiling gaily, Tea rushed after him laughing her head off, it was the most fun she’d had in so long. The doorway was near and Eolen was in front of her. She smiled cunnily and let out a realistic whimper, he stopped and spun round, Tea stood with her dressing gown partly open. Eolen gawped at her, as she closed it and skipped inside sticking her tongue out at him, “I win!”
Eolen looked at her feigning annoyance, “Hey no fair you distracted me!”
She felt for her locks of hair over her shoulder to fiddle with, it was then she remembered, it was gone, Jared taken it, he taken her happy moments. Eolen saw her smile fade and went over to her, “You’ll get your chance one day, you’ll get your revenge on that beast!”
Tea sighed miserably, “You still think I’m beautiful don’t you Eolen?”
Eolen placed his hands on hers, “You’re a princess an angel in this hell.”
She blushed slightly and closed her hands over his, “Thanks, you are so lovely Eolen.”
He turned red and looked down then looked up a sparkle in his emeralds, “Lets dance!”
Tea blinked in shock, “No music…”
Eolen grinned and gave an excited wink, “Let’s imagine the beautiful music.”
She smiled uncomfortably, “Eolen I’d love to dance, but I can’t and never learned.”
Eolen smiled determined, “Never to late to learn.”
Without a second word Eolen began to lead her through the kitchen humming a beautiful tune, she soon forgot she was dancing and followed the steps by his voice. He changed the dance and began to waltz, as she’d seen her Mum and Dad do when she was younger.
Tea felt so happy he had his arm on left side and his other on her shoulder, she’d copied him as he led her. After a while Eolen stopped humming but she still kept up pace with him. Eolen smiled at this and stopped leading, she realized he trusted her to lead. She smiled back at him romantically. He followed her lead as they waltzed continually until both could no more. They stopped and Tea grinned, “I’m even more hungry now!”
He walked around opening cupboards trying to find something they’d enjoy. Tea did wonder if he was being fussy, he came out a the cupboards carrying meat, Tea frowned he immediately went for his salvation, he had no right. She had only wanted a quick meal then he could of got the meat but no he had to get it now the selfish ass. She shouted anger clear in her voice. “You! You selfish little bastard, you only want to use me like everyone else, you’re worse than Jared he makes no pretense of his love, you do!”
Eolen looked at her in surprise, “What about our meal? I’m only getting it now so I don’t forget!”
Tea wouldn’t have it, “Eolen I’m not naïve. You’re only after one thing. A means to survive!”
He sighed but kept calm, “Tea, really, please, trust me… I danced with you. I never abandoned you except when I had no choice. I gave you one night of bliss before this all began. I risked all to just come back here and save you!”
Tea looked at him tears beginning to pour from eyes, she rushed over to him and buried her head in his shoulder hic-coughing, “Oh Eolen I’m so sorry, I’m sorry this place is evil, we need to leave, I need to go away from here!”
Eolen massaged her beautiful locks and patted her back lightly, “We’ll go then, let me just get the meat!”
A voice came from behind them sneering, “Well my butler was right, I’m glad I actually listened to him, it appears Eolen here took a bite of candy before me, and Tea let me tell you, with me as your husband I kill any competition!”
Tea swung round her eyes wide open in fear, he was back, Eolen was there standing transfixed, and terrified. Jared was back and he was grinning like a cat may at a mouse it just trapped the way for. She was the mouse with her lover. Tea did all she could do to not cry but with Jared laughter and Eolen terrified out his wits. Tears began to fall, her dreams had of freedom had been crushed by Jared.
