(For those of you who can remember I posted a few chapters of this story about a year or two ago when I first started writing it. The basic story outline of the first book has been written and now that I have some free time I can start on editing. I'd like some feedback on my work to know if it's good enough to send to a publisher. Just like last time I'll only be posting the prologue and first five chapters. I'll also post the legacy for those of you who haven't read it before. The prologue takes place before the main character is born.)

The Old Legacy

There have been many theories of how the universe was created, but only one is true. Billions of years ago before the universe was created, there was a being of ultimate power believed to be more powerful than all the Gods combined, Krazatan, The Chaos Dragon. Over time, with infinite power but nothing to use it on, the all-powerful dragon grew insane and unleashed its power on the empty void of space. The power of more than 100 billion super novas created all life in the universe, and at the same time it split apart the blood red dragon into 5 separate spirits. Fire… Thunder… Ice… Darkness… Light. These are the five spirits of Chaos. Each has complete control over its element.

After wandering the universe for billions of years, the spirits ended up on a planet known as Earth. They turned into dragons and gained the names, “The Five Earth Dragons”. Civilizations fell under their towering stature, and terrifying power. Their ultimate strength seemed endless. When all hope was gone, as if out of nowhere, a species of winged super humans appeared to fight the dragons. Defeat fell upon the dragons but immediately after their deaths they turned into eggs and were reborn, more powerful than before. Thus the vicious cycle went on. These winged species of super humans were the only ones powerful enough to defeat the Earth Dragons, which gave their race the title of “Dragon Knights”.

A thousand years later, the Dragon Knights finally figured out a way to break the dragons’ rebirth cycle, or at least stop it from happening. They gathered all the greatest mages in the world and with their powers they sealed all the Earth Dragons’ negative energies into a single sword, the “Tenjin”. The dragons then became peaceful in their new world and started living among the other creatures of the planet. The people of that time began to fight over who should keep the Tenjin. The Dragon Knights refused to hand over the mighty blade of their race to the feeble minded humans. Thus, war broke out between the humans and the Dragon Knights. The humans, on a scale of ten to one, outnumbered the Dragon Knights, but the strength of their race evened out the odds. The war went on for thousands of years; five thousand starting from the day the Tenjin was created. Most of the soldiers forgot what they were fighting for. Then one dreadful morning the Sun disappeared, an eclipse called “The Darkest Omen” began. The spiritual energies that came forth from the eclipse aggravated the Earth Dragons and gave them the moment they needed to regain their powers. As the ground shook the Earth Dragons ran wild with an anger that couldn’t be stopped. With the eclipse still ever present and the Earth Dragons terrorizing the planet, the Dragon Knights came to fight them once again. With multiple caves that opened from the shaking ground, the Dragon Knights found ruins and pictures depicting the slayings and rebirths of the Earth Dragons.

The slayings began with the knights hoping that the dragons would be weaker and that they might be able to harness them again. They would collect the eggs before they hatched and put them in solitude, deep inside the Earth. Something went terribly wrong as the first Earth Dragon was slain, there was no egg as there should be. Again as the next dragon was killed there was no egg. At the end of their decade and with the last slain dragon, the knights thought all was well. That was until the eclipse, that had lasted the entire decade, started to glow red. It started with the death of the first Earth Dragon but they had thought it was a sign that they were doing all things right. As the new eclipse started to emit heat and immense light it finally exploded, thus creating Krazatan, The Chaos Dragon.

Armies of the world fell under the immense power of the newly formed dragon. Even the mighty Dragon Knights were no match for Krazatan. When all hope was lost, when the eve of destruction was at hand, a mysterious Dragon Knight wielding a magic sword appeared. He was believed to be the descendant of the very first Dragon Knight. With unimaginable powers, he was the first being able to wield this magical sword, the Tenjin. With the powers of Fire, Thunder, Ice, Darkness, and Light combined it was powerful enough to destroy the Chaos Dragon. It has been said that the Chaos Dragon uttered his prophecy in perfect English, that he would return every 5 thousand years, on the eve of the eclipse, The Darkest Omen. Unfortunately the noble Dragon Knight sacrificed his own life to protect all of humanity, and the Tenjin was lost. No one who lives knows what happened to it, except perhaps the Earth Dragons.

With the death of Krazatan, the Earth Dragons regained their spirits, but were peaceful and lived with the humans for many years. The Dragon Knights had perished during the onslaught of Krazatan, though but few were rumored to still live amongst the unsuspecting. Some say that one day the Tenjin will show up and fall into the hands of a true Dragon Knight, one with a pure heart, that will keep the peace and take care of the Earth. It will find it’s way to the descendant of the Legendary Dragon Knight…

Prologue:

Black skies and raging storms as far as the eye can see. A shadow of death and despair rolled over the lands like a miasma as the events began to unfold. Dead trees, black lakes, ruined houses, many have suffered under the powers of Darkness. In the middle of these dead plains stood two men, one woman, and a black serpent dragon that stood higher than any mountain.

Both men had long, snow-white hair. The eldest of the two wore a suit of white armour with a giant wolf head engraved in the chest. His appearance was that of a middle aged man, but the look in his eyes held the weight of century long struggles. The younger of the two wore a grey shoulder plate and long white clothing to match his hair. He looked to be half the age of the first man. His eyes held the look of a calm hatred for many things in the world. The woman accompanying them was the only human in the group, and she was pregnant.

The black dragon’s body slithered in the sky like a snake. Its gigantic wings bore thousands of gaping holes that have rotted away over the course of thousands of years. Bones protruded through many places on its body, its head looked like a giant skull. Dark green fire burned fiercely in its eye sockets.

The eldest man turned to the younger one. “Kujimaru, take Riana somewhere safe. I fear this is a battle even I cannot win.”

The calm hatred still hung in his eyes. “Father… You would throw your life away for this human?”

“I would gladly give my life for the woman I love.”

“You are a fool, father.”

The elder looked at his son with caring eyes. “One day, my son, when you find someone worth protecting you will understand the sacrifices I have made today.”

The younger man said nothing else. He turned to the woman and grabbed her arm. “Let’s go, human.”

“No!” The woman forced herself out of his grip and flung her arms around the man she loved so fiercely. “Hikatsumi, I won’t leave you! I would die for you!”

The man wrapped his arms around her body for one last hug. “Riana, this is something I must do. I do not know why this dragon is after you, but I swear on my love for you I will not let it hurt you.”

“But… But what of our child? He will grow up not knowing who his father is.”

The man gently kissed the woman’s forehead. “While I cannot be there for our son in person, I will always be with him in spirit. Raise him well, and show him the love you have given to me.”

The younger man tore the woman off of his father. “Time to go.”

“No! Hikatsumi!” The elder man turned to face the dragon without fear of pain or death. The woman’s cries carried on through the night. “Hikatsumi…!”

Wow!!! This is awesome, Dynamo!!!! I would certainly buy it if you had it published!!!!!

This reminds me a lot of the 3rd Inuyasha movie. You remember how it starts? With Sesshomaru questioning Inutaisho's actions and dedication to Inuyasha's mother? It's awesome!

This is eally good, but only as a prolouge. It's very speeck-like, but I'm sure that's intentional. My only real critique is that you say "The older of the two" and then "the younger of the tow" in the description. You could just say "The younger" because we already know who your comparing.
