The cell was cold and damp. Freedom seemed such a long way away. Lucius longed to be free to enjoy the winter like the rest of the world to ski with his family and make snow angles with his little girl. But that would only happen in the future if he where to get out of this horid place. He longed for his innocence to be proven but as each day dragged on hope faded a little more.

He held tight to Iron bars, along the window, and relishing the little light he had. The prison was underground, windows just above. The lightly falling snow, made the concrete walls damp, his breath hovering in front of him. How he longed for freedom. He leaned against the cot they had given him. The goverment had no right to lock up innocent people for their beliefs. So he spoke out against the king? Big deal. Well, it probably was for his daughter. Oh how he longed to be able to hold their little hand.

He'd been using a scrap of iron to file at the iron bars, but so far had little more than a nick in the metal to show for it.
Alashia! he thought of his daughter and filed harder. He had seen here for the last time moons ago, as a stern woman led her of to her new "family" where , doubtlessly, she would be used as a slave. He knew he was right to speak out, but was a few minutes of standing there, shouting all that was wrong to the king worth a lifetime of hell.
