Rules

I All stories and poems must be rated accordingly. If they have vulgar language, please rate them as 'R.'

II Keep all comments clean! For stories and poems, one may use vulgar language, but this is not the case with comments. All inappropiate comments will be edited.

III Members are asked to withold on submitting work until they post two reviews. After one has done, a member can submit as much work as he/she may like, although it is requested that one keeps the ratio of reviews to work to at least 2 to 1.

IV If you are not a Mentor or a Moderator, then please do not act like one!

V Members should seek to improve other's writing skills.

VI The administration reserves the right to delete posts and restrict access.

VII This is a writers forum, and thus "netspeak" or "1337" is simply not allowed.

If you have any concerns or questions, e-mail Nate at webmaster@youngwriterssociety.com

Guides

Over the years, a number of guides, both official and unofficial, have been made by myself and various members of YWS. Most of these guides overlap each other, so there's no need to read them all, or even any since it's usually just common sense. Although, if you're unfamiliar with how an online forum operates, you should first check out the FAQ. The following is a partial list of guides, and if you would like yours added, just contact me via PM with a link to the guide.

  • The Official Unofficial Guide To YWS by Gannon: This is probably the most concise of the guides and contains most of the information you will need.
  • FAQ For New Users by Nate: This FAQ is different than the one before in that the FAQ for new users just answers questions about how YWS operates, not just forums in general. If you have a general question about YWS, it's probably already answered here.
  • YWS 3.0 User Guide by Nate: This is a guide for those who were members of YWS prior to June 2006. It's an introduction to what's different between the old YWS and the new, as well as what's changed and what was removed.
  • Questions: Not really a guide, this is a thread for questions that are not answered by any of the guides. If you have a question, just ask it here, and don't worry about checking to see if someone has already asked it. Unlike many other websites, we don't mind answering the same question twice!
