About the book "Beyond"

There are powers hidden in all of us.

Tormented by a traumatic childhood incident, seventeen-year-old Ayden goes through life doing his best to forget the ordeal. That is, until one fateful night leaves him plagued with questions, and forces him to realize that his memory is a gateway to powers lurking deep within.
With the help from an erudite mentor and an orphaned girl, he is guided to the remnants of a world obscured by time. While an intrigue unfolds in the shadows and an age-old alliance shatters, Ayden is drawn into a web of betrayal and deception. And as friends turn to foe, he is forced to make the ultimate choice between the feelings in his heart and the loyalty to his kind.

It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle. The door opened on to a tube-shaped hall like a tunnel: a very comfortable tunnel without smoke, with panelled walls, and floors tiled and carpeted, provided with polished chairs, and lots and lots of pegs for hats and coats—the hobbit was fond of visitors. The tunnel wound on and on, going fairly but not quite straight into the side of the hill —The Hill, as all the people for many miles round called it—and many little round doors opened out of it, first on one side and then on another.
