Great list! Very helpful for those "Said is too boring" situations.

I read in a Stephen King Dark Tower novel today the word grumped.
I thought that was awesome.

Heh heh, I always try to avoid repeating said over and over again, but sometimes I just can't find another word.

Yeah... I've noticed that in your writing. Rolling Eyes Don't do that. It's very distracting...

I've been gone a while. Sorry about that, but I will be sure to add your words; in fact they're already added.

To be honest, you'd be better off with a simple "said." ALLLLLLLLLL those words in your entire story...*shudders* Said is more professional.

But "said" can get all too irritating when it is repeated over and over and over again. It should be like, try not to use "said" too many times and try to use the other words here and there.

I can add two words,

Growled and Simpered

Snoink already pointed this out, but remember said is there for a reason. Don't completely avoid it. Sometimes it's automatic for a reader to skim over the word said. If you change it to another word, it can throw them off. Don't completely avoid said. It's a good word. Wink

On another note, this is quite the list of alternatives. Laughing
