Hey,
I absolutely loved the books but im afraid to go and see the movie incase it completely ruins it. I heard in the movie Zaphod Beeblebrox only has one head. If thats true they might have missed a fair bit of detail. |

Um... You really should've put this in a different forum, like somewhere in the welcome section.
But the movie looks good ... I've never read the books |

I'm always concerned when I see a move adaption of a book, but you must remember then when seeing a movie it's always BASED on a book. If you really want the book, you need to read the book. There is no way for a movie to possibly relay all the information a book holds, or get every detail that each individual writer feels is important. So if you go and see the movie, see it as it is; a movie. And not a book put on screen. Because it's not.
The closest I've experienced on an entertainment (as people view it these days)/book is an Audio Book. Those are nifty.
But, yeah, I'm psyched about the movie because it looks like a good MOVIE. I respect the book for being a book, but as soon as I walk through the theater doors, I'm going to pretend I never read it, and the movie is a clean slate. |

| Well...the books are good and the series was great, so I don't think they can butcher the movie that much. I would say it might be pretty good. |

| If the movie is off on its storyline, I won't care. Heck, Doug Adams changed his own story all the time. Contradiction is practically the point of the books. No, the only thing that will make me dislike the movie is if the humor is changed. If it doesn't have Adams-like humor, then I will be very dissappointed. I saw the original movie (a two-cassette thing based closely on the radio show which is very much like the books), and it was awesome. So basically, if the new one is worse than that, I will be sad. From the prievews, though, I think it will be successful. I don't care if Zaphod has only one head. It was a bit creepy in the first place. The only thing I don't like so far is the new Marvin. But then again, I'm biased by seeing the old movie, and the lack of technology and special effects gave it a charm that the new one will have to replace with good technology. All I know is that I plan to see it as soon as I can... |

| The book is praticaly always better than the movie unless it is a bad book. I love his books! I have not seen the movie but have heardthe radio show. If they don't have proper accents or 2 heads it wont be nearly as good. The coercials for the movie dident seem like it was supossed to be a comedy. Too bad he is dead. |

| I didn't find the movie as funny as the book, but the movie has a better plot and better characterisation. |

| The books hardly had a plot at all, and that's why I liked them better. That was the whole point, was that they didn't have a point. |

| I recently saw the movie and wasn't sure what to think. At first I thought it was terrible. I rewatched it again and for some reason liked it much better the second time. I think I've seen it about 6 times now and I think it is brilliant. It took some time to grow on me, but it was funny and I think they chose the actors well for this movie. |
