Why do you write? In hopes of becoming publishs one day? Just like the express yourself?

I really didnt start writing untill a few months ago, but I have been enjoying it, except for ZZap, he makes me sad when he says mean things about my story. Crying or Very sad Laughing

Mainly I write because I enjoy it, but I hope one day I can have my work published, it's possibly my main dream in life to see a book with my name proudly written.

I've been writing ever since I was around six or seven and don't think I ever want to stop.

I've made little books since I could write, when I was 6 a wrote two long (for a 6 year old) stories, and a year 12 had to type one up for me. Ever since, all my teachers have commented on their need on a secretary to mark my work. But I only realised at 11 that I wanted to seriously write. Funny how you don't see things staring you in the face.
I write because it's fun. I love it. It's a feeling I get nowhere else. I don't write especially to be published (that would be nice though) I just write to have a great time, and it lets me tell people about myself without being nervous and scared.

I don't know exactly when or why I started writing stories. I do know that I might have started with a Harry Potter fanfic when I was twelve(some part were cheesy, but others and ideas could've worked if I kept at it and learned how to write better back when). I also know I started because my best friend had done one when she was 10 and when I reread it after I actually read the series, it inspired me to write my Harry Potter daydreams down. And it happened again when I was thirteen. Then I started writing and creating stories with my best friend. And flash foreward two or three years, and I'm writing my own stories. I just write to gather up my daydreams into something good.

I write because if I didn't write, I wouldn't be me.

I have been writing my entire life.

And I don't know what to do with it, really.

That pretty much sums it up for me, though I don't believe I could've put it as eloquently as Tessitore did.

I've been writing ever since I could read (although my first stories make very little sense... if any). Nowadays I write because it helps my mind to settle down and it's a stressfree activity whereas the rest of my life is becoming extremely stressful (I have to get a real job next year Sad ).

Of course, my hope is that the novel I'm writing now will sell very well and I won't have to get a job...

I'm just trying to find some fantasy or sci-fi magazines that would be interested in buying short stories. Like HOPE. That seems to be awfully popular for a year-and-a-half old story. Anyone know of any magazines or something along those lines that offer... that sort of thing?

...I've already decided to work on small-time publishing before going after Dark Wings, my novella. It's not the best I've ever done, but I still have high hopes for it. One day, one day...

but first, magazines! Short stories. Rar!

...help?

I dont know why I write. I guess I do it for fun (although a lot of my work is for school). Its kinda weird though. I sometimes really love to just sit down and write down a story forever but then other times if I try to put my ideas into words I just get frustrated and quite because I can't get the story to come out the way I want it too. Overall Id say its for pleasure that i write, but most of the pleasure comes after the fact, if you know what i mean. Twisted Evil

I know all about that...

I've always enjoyed writing but never felt as if I was good enough, so I would stop nearly as soon as I started. About four years ago, I was sitting in history class when random inspiration stuck and I felt like I was about to go crazy if I didn't get something down on paper......as soon as I put my pencil on the paper I just started writing madly......I couldn't get the words out fast enough and ended up scribbling huge words all over the rest of my notebook in an attempt to get it all out!!! Ruined the notebook, but I've never stopped since!

I have a crazy dream to be able to walk into a Barnes & Noble in some other state and be able to walk out with a book that I wrote. Not that I'd stop then, but I feel as if it would validate what I do.

If I'm in a really bad mood, or upset, writing often helps me feel better, and of course there's the added bonus of the emotions being transfered rather powerfully into the characters...

I write because sometimes I'll get a story (or sometimes a line of poetry) stuck in my head and writing is the only way to get it out. Or a character will tap me on the shoulder and demand that I write their story Wink. (Does this happen to anyone else?)

That and I enjoy it Very Happy.
