You know that little "delete all entries" button on top of the guest book? I accidentaly clicked it. 25 pages. Gone. Can they ever come back?

Hay guys. Um, I'm BeeKay and kinda new to all this if you haven't already noticed :/ I was just wondering if there was like a page I could go to where it explains everything in stupid terms `cause I tend to have a hard time following directions :3 There probably is and I just haven't scrolled around enough to spot it, so please forgive my stupidity if you will :)

Sort of, yes! You can go here, here, or ask anyone in blue, green or red (ok, or purple!) for help! All those in green are mods, and us in red are admin. Other than that, post a welcome thread, ask questions, PM any of us in color or anyone who volunteers their help, or check out the buddy system!.

Failing all else, if you're still confused, continue to poke around, and PM me! I'm happy to help!

And welcome to YWS!

Hey, random question - but this is what this place is for, really...
What does the "dig this story" mean?
Am just curious, lol. An urgent reply isn't really needed. Is it a add to favorites kinda thing?
:D
thanks.
Got YWS?

YWS is a place for young writers to meet others who have the same dream, and make friends. It's also for us to put our writing and reviewing skills to the test. And it gives us a chance to get some story thoughts out of our heads. :D

I don't believe any area of the site says 'dig this story' could you possibly tell me where you're looking? If you mean the system of giving a story a star, that shows the author you like their piece and gives it a greater chance of being featured.
If you're new and feeling a little out of place, feel free to pm me with questions or check out The Buddy System!

"Digg this story" is at the top, Heather.

www.digg.com is a website where users can "digg" stories they would like other people on the internet to see. Basically it's how interesting/amusing/good links can get passed around the world wide web quickly. So if you see something on YWS you think people outside YWS would want to see, go for it and "Digg this story".

It's just a Web 2.0 phenomenon that Nate has integrated into the site, but I'm not sure anybody has really utilised.

--Christine, welcome to YWS!

Well, it's great you've come here to review someone else's work! To do so, go to the Writing forums (up there in the menu bar), pick a category that interests you ("Dramatic Poetry", "Romantic Fiction" etc.), click a story that you'd like to review, and then you can either reply using the box at the bottom or click "Post Reply".

Play around with the codes if you want to use them for things like italics or quotes, and I'd recommend previewing your post before you submit it, in case you've made a mistake.

Hope I helped! PM me if you need any more help. =)

You can't delete the actual post, but you can edit the post and remove the text, and ask a mod (anyone with a green name) to lock the post for you. ;)

Hello,

I've just joined and already am annoyed by the fact that I sometimes am loged out although I did not press the log out button.

I've tried to create a topic to introduce myself twice and I was always loged out when I wanted to submit the text I wrote. Now I am kind of annyoed. That was not the first time that happened but before it was never when I just had wirtten something.

Can I do something against that? Or is that just my computer?

Tank you for any help you can offer.

Hmmm, I've occasionally been logged out when I've been inactive for a long period but not often so it could be your computer or the browser you're using. I take it you don't have the same trouble with other sites? Is your web browser up to date?

Remember when you log in to hit the check box that says "always log me in" or something like that, otherwise whenever you open a new YWS window, you'll have to relog on. That might be the problem.
You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself one.

The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.
