Hi.
I'm a part-time writer and also a "student". When I'm not busy with what humans call "life", I can usually be found at the library, somewhere with a good view or in my room writing. So far I have completed three chapters of my Book (it has no title so I'll call it Book for now). I get my inspiration from my weird and "dangerously populated" town. I love reading and hope to share a few of my ideas with anyone needing help.
Farewell for now and "May the Force be with you" |

| That depends on how you define the word geek. |

Ok, you've got a point there.
I guess I'm a "clusmy geek with braces" type.
Maybe more of a bookworm or artist geek... |

| Well, I thought it was an appropriate word because of the way you randomly quoted Star Wars. I don't know about anywhere else, but in Ontario, the meaning of the word geek is becoming more of a life-style thing that's surrounded by interest in any area. Me, for example, I am a fanatsy geek. Trekkies are geeks, as are the people who insisted on seeing the most recent Star Wars movie on the opening day, such as myself. |

In America, you would say "Freak" instead of "Geek." Like I'm a guitar freak...guitar geek sounds like an insult. |

| Well, it's the same basic concept. But with things like guitars, using geek does sound kind of silly. |

Don't mind TBR, Djinni. She likes to freak people out on purpose.
I have no problem with saying I'm a geek. I like school. I love translating Latin. I love reading ridiculously hard books in Omnibus. I love debating and I can't wait to start Rhetoric.
Bein' a geek is fuuuun. |

| Yeah. I wish I still had this poem I wrote in the space of about five minutes because my teacher told me to. It was called "Geek Power." It was about how supposedly "cool" people torment people like me. But I end it with the line "Because you will be working for me one day." The really strange thing was being called a "cool geek" by someone who didn't understand what a geek was. Me, I'm learning a language because I like the cartoons, and I actually remember details from movies/TV that the average non-geek won't. |

When I was at school "geek" and "freak" was an insult.
It was better to be known as "boffin" (don't ask why!) |

| They still are in most places. I don't know of any place outside Southern Ontario where the word geek is used the way we use it. |
