Hi everyone!

I haven't been around much lately, but I'm back! I really like reading wilderness adventure/wildlife/survival stories, so I dcided to make this contest.

So, the rules/guidelines:

1: Entry must be prose. No poems in this contest, as I can't judge them. Wink

2: Entry must be between 250-3,000 words in length. If you have something that's a bit longer or shorter, let me know. There may be exceptions.

3:Entry deadline: 30th of September, 2008. This also may be stretched, but only for good reason.

4: Entries will be reviewed for the following characteristics, in the following order.
Engaging plot
Readability
Flow
Originality
Character development (If applicable)
Mechanics (spelling, grammar, punctuation, the lot)
Compliance with contest rules

5: This contest must stay G-PG13. NO EXCEPTIONS!
6: Prizes:
1st: 4 Reviews of choice, 500 points.
2nd: 3 Reviews of choice, 300 points
3rd: 2 Reviews of choice,100 points
Honorable mention(s): 1 Review of choice work.

7: Entry guidelines:

I'm not picky about what you enter, as long as it follows the rules mentioned above. The theme of this contest is survival stories, but anything to do with living in the wilderness will be aplicable. This also applies to stories having anything to do with wild animals. Wink

Have fun! I hope this works. Wink

I'm so excited to see who might enter! Good Luck all, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

~Lupis

P.S. Sorry mods! Will remember next time. Smile

Ooh, Canis! Why didn't you tell me you'd started a contest?

Well, I'm gonna be away for about eight weeks starting Saturday. But I will have access to computers and will thus try to write something and enter it before the deadline.

Wish me luck, lol.

Finally, a couple responses!

Azila: Where are you going? PM me!

Good Luck all!

I may have time. It's unlikely, though. Hopefully will get to do it!

Let the advertising campaign begin. Come on, people, it's not that hard a promt! I'm extending the deadline to August 30th. That should give everyone plenty of time.

Good luck everyone, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ENTER!

Great! Can't wait.

Just so you know, posting here with something like a 'count me in!' will automatically result in an annoying PM from me near the closing date of the contest, just in case you forget.

So.... You are warned.
