I just ordered two copies! Very Happy

Out of curiousity, how are sales fairing, Nate?

So far, orders aren't as good as I would like. They stand at 20 right now, which is fine. That's 10% of our goal after all! I've been busy at securing some news articles on it, and while I have received no promises, I have received very favorable responses. All that's left is waiting for it to be on Amazon, which should be just about any day now (another 2 weeks at most).

I haven't bought my copy yet, I'll be ordering it next week. That'll take you 0.5% closer to your goal. Razz

Any sort of 3rd party coverage + appearing on Amazon should hopefully = more sales.

I've been debating whether to send information to my local newspaper about the journal. I want to do it--free publicity, right? I spoke to my father and he said I should wait until I do something bigger. What am I going to do that is bigger?

So, what I'm getting at, is can we have a press kit of some sort? I'm not sure what to give to the newspaper, or what to write, etc. Any suggestions, dear Nate? I think that would help purchases go up, at least a little?

I wrote up an article in my college paper already with links and stuff to the site to buy it from. I'm also doing insider work with my friends from Books-A-Million. Just waiting on the promo stuff and Amazon. I think once it hits Amazon, sales will go up.

I can tell you right now that at least 5 of those were courtesy of my family. xD I bought one (as a trophy), my dad bought one, my mum, my grandma, and my 6th grade writing teacher all bought one.

If it makes you feel better, Nate, I've got a lot more people who have promised to purchase it -- old teachers, family, etc. I'm probably going to be featured in my school paper, my current English teacher is on the verge of a fiesta in my honour, and my old elementary school principal will probably be all over it. My school paper reaches well over 2,000 students, plus teachers & parents and ladeda. I still need to show it to my school librarian, though. >.<

And yeah, Amazon's more popular, so it's quite possible that sales will go up when the Journal hits there. Not to mention it's probably more trusted, not that poor Lulu isn't reliable. It's just that less people have heard of it. And yeah! A press kit would be awesome. The Glendale Republic would jump at this. So I hope. xD

And I signed an autograph the other day. Teehee. ^^

Sorry to be bothersome, but do you know yet when it will be on Amazon? I can't buy mine till then, so I hope you understand my impatience.

Cool, when it'd appear on Amazon? I've checked a few times, but it's never been there.

Alright people: get buying. And once you've bought it, be sure to give it a review on Amazon.

Er... It doesn't appear locked at the moment, so I'll just go along and add my two cents.

Wellity, I didn't end up receiving my free contributor's copy, for whatever reason. No doubt the crappy Post and my having recently moved homes has something to do it. So, after being badgered by my mum (which is odd, in itself, as we generally try not to inquire into each others lives) I bought it off Amazon (using her credit of course).

And this time, I ordered it express.

So yeah, doing my bit. I saw some promising comments on Amazon too...
