Two questions.
1) Can we use old pieces? I'm completing another table like this on LJ, and it has the prompt 'he' that I've already finished. I liked it, and it's romantic, so I might like to submit that.
2) Do we actually have to use the word? Like, if we choose the first one, do we have to say 'accident' in the piece, or can we just use that to inspire us/as a theme?

Wait. Do we have to write five things, each of those using one of the words? Or do we have to write one, using five prompts in it, which is what I'm actually doing?

I have my first one complete!
It was really fun.  I started with 'fake,' but I didn't really have a good idea of what to write when I started. I need to find a good prompt that matches what I wrote now, haha.
But I'm really glad for this. You got me to create a new set of characters, who all come with these really detailed, interesting, new (for me, at least,) histories. I'm so excited!
Anyways, expect one from me right after I edit. I just wanted to share my success.

OK. I'm using an old piece I wrote for my first one: "Midwife." It's a comicbook script, for a story about five pages long. I actually wrote that for a contest, in which you had to do a story that included a birth, a death (020. Death) and a rat at some point in it. All in five pages of story. So I wrote it. I think it's pretty OK. Putting it in the "Other" category.
For my second one, I wrote a poem. That's the first time I've done that. Like, really done that. I wrote it directly into the post, and it's me channeling scornfulness of Bob Dylan with childish rhymes and really vulgar and cheap insults. I like it. It's called "Just Like Bobby Zimmerman's Blues" in tribute to the song tune I was writing it to. So keep in mind the words were written like they were lyrics, a fact that I reference. The word is 038. Knot.
You can argue that neither of those is really romantic. But romance that is lost still counts as romance, right? |
