I will definitely be entering. Wink Does it have to be things not already posted on the site? Or can we resubmit them to you just through the e-mail address? Thanks!

Yay!!

Great idea Adam, thanks for this.

Hmm...only one entry for each category—must choose wisely.

Erm, couldn't we have separate categories for Photography too? You know, it's a vast area too, you could have it sorted out in sections like landscape, portrait, sky, black and white, original angles, wildlife, nature, flowers, insects...not so many of course, just trying to make moi idea clear.

I suppose it would be even more interesting then.

And, does photoshop manipulations fall under digital art?

Question: Say I did a cartoon comic that goes for a couple pages. If I send it to you as one attachment, would it still count as one entry? Or would I need to draw really, really small and fit it all on one page?

(I'm taking a guess that a cartoon comic would ok if submitted under 'other')

I would really rather you email them to me, just because My inbox on my email wont fill up and prevent people from entering.

The categories are done by medium. Subject categories for art would be insane. For anyone who has been on Deviant Art you know that the categories can be unbelievable extensive and in order to keep this fairly simple and save everyone some headaches I would like it to stay simplistic. Perhaps in future shows we can get into the nitty gritty subcategories, but for now we just have these few.

*thinks 'till brain hurts*

oh yeah. i have a couple of questions: i assume there will be winners. will there be 1st 2nd 3rd places? and will the winners be the highest score of all categories or just the category they submit in?

At Oneeyed: There will be 1st 2nd and 3rd places in each category. That way it's a bit more fair cause how can you really look at a photo and a drawing and decide one is better than the other. They both have very different means of production and different artistic needs.

At Amber, entries will be accepted up until May 20th.

I've received on entry so far. Bring em on guys!

How about using stock photos?

The only thing i could really do in this competition is the digital art one, but i can't do it if i have no pictres to use.

So if i use stock photos (which are perfectly legal to use) and emailed you with the links to the pictures i've used so that you could check the copyright, would that be ok?

Well, It depends on what you do with them. There is a fine line in which you can manipulate the photo so much that it becomes your own. Just do what you are going to do and email me the link to the stock photo when you send in your entry.
