Ahbout the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the tension and excitement readers felt. R&R, please! Quite old, so I know some one you will have lots of things you'd like to point out.

------------------------

The Harry Potter revelation

Tensions are high. People everywhere are barely suppressing their excitement (if they're bothering to suppress it at all), boards are full of one topic: The release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I can imagine you readers now: 'All that excitement over a simple book? Sheesh, what is this world coming to?' but that, my friend, is where you are wrong. Harry Potter isn't just an average, ordinary book – it's a craze that's completely taken the world by storm. J.K. Rowling barely expected people to give her book a second glance when her first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published.

What she got was the surprise of her life.

Hundreds of thousands of people were reading it, showing it to their friends, swearing on their mothers that it was the best book they'd ever read, loving it, finishing almost hours after first opening it's pages and entering Harry's world…

Of course, it's not exactly possible to mention Harry Potter without talking about the story. A boy wizard, who survived a deadly killing curse while his entire family and home went up in flames, raised by a ruthless aunt and uncle, and then discovers he's a wizard on his eleventh birthday! Not to mention the adventures he has at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – playing sports on broomsticks, potion classes, a giant, three-headed dog named Fluffy, the Philosopher's Stone – what's not to like about it?

J.K, shocked by the worldwide popularity, decided to draw up a series, in fear of running out of ideas. And thus, she sat down at her computer (which she had bought from the profits of 'Philosopher's Stone') and wrote Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Slightly larger than 'Philosopher's Stone', 'Chamber of Secrets' was welcomed with open arms and fans began spreading the Harry Potter trend to the world – and Warner Bros. Began making movies, increasing the Harry Potter fandom by a twofold. By now, J.K. Rowling had signed herself into a contract for seven books in the 'Harry Potter' series.

A short pause followed the second book, and then, once again, J.K. sent out a new book into the world, which even today is a firm favorite in many hearts – 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. In this one, we meet two new, lovable characters – Sirius Black the Azkaban escapee, and Remus Lupin the werewolf, both discovered to be very good friends of Harry's father, James. In it, we also discover that Ronald Weasley's (Harry Potter's best friend) rat, Scabbers, is actually a supposedly murdered man named Wormtail, who used to be friends with Sirius, Remus, and James, but ended up betraying Harry's parents, partly at fault for their death.

It was a book with plot twists, 'leaving nothing, but everything, to the imagination', to take a line from mugglenet.com's book, 'What will happen?'

Then two considerably larger books followed – 'Goblet of Fire' and 'Order of the Phoenix'. In these books, we witness first hand something we hadn't thought possible up to that point – the loss of good and innocent characters. Wormtail, who has returned to Lord Voldemort, the evil wizard who killed Harry's parents, and so many more, ruthlessly murders Cedric Diggory, a rather popular student at Hogwarts. In Order of the Phoenix, we see Harry really begin to enter adolescence, with mood swings and a temper almost always at boiling point. We see him lose Sirius Black, the closest thing he had to a father, and we see him lose his cool against his role model, Albus Dumbledore.

Finally, the most important book in the series, 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' met the eager fans, whose number, by this time, was well into the millions. Now, we could call ourselves the 'Potterites', the modern Trekkies, the fans of Harry Potter. In it, we discover that even Dumbledore, the greatest wizard the world had ever seen, was not perfect – his death at the end of the book shakes fan, leaving them in fear of J.K. Rowling's wrath with her power of the pen and desire to kill off her characters. We learn knew things about the characters, and see Harry discover a new love in Ron Weasley's little sister, Ginny. We also see the relationship between Ron and Hermione skyrocket, leaving almost all the fans with no doubt as to whom Harry's Potter's best friends were in love with.

Now, we wait on tenterhooks as J.K Rowling wraps up her seventh and final book, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'. Due for release on the 21st of July, 2007, Harry will be met with the largest fan base he has seen yet. Bookstores will be crammed with people. And everywhere, fans will be laughing, crying, and reading at the same time, screaming with joy at finally having Harry Potter 7 in their hands. The postal service will be frantic, trying to get all the Harry Potter books to houses.

And then, quite inexplicably, it will be over. The movies will be coming out, sure, but now everyone will know how the story ends. Everyone will know who lives, who dies, who loves who. Everyone will know what happens to Harry Potter, a wizard, a hero, a legend – a boy.

Everyone will know Harry Potter.

*Claps* Good Job. I remember after the sixth book came out, my cousin and I spent a whole night discussing Harry. And after I got the last book (a day after it came out) I read it the whole night, finishing it 4 in the morning.

About your writing. The font is turning off readers from reading it. Change the font!
And space out your writing, it makes it easier on our eyes.

I've seen other posts by you around this site, that basically have to do with Harry Potter. So I see that you are a Harry Potter freak!

I also learned some new things about JKR in your writing. She totally rocks, doesn't she?

ohh, yay. this gave me a chance to remember the good times..sigh. i remember when it came out that i wanted to read it, but i would have waited longer for it just so i could have a little more time before I said goodbye. I've been reading Harry Potter for eight years now, since the second grade. I remember I tried to space out my reading of it, I didn't want it to go by too quickly, I think I read it in four days, with a whole lot of restraint. When I finished it I was crying, and it was like four o clock in the morning.

yay for harry potter freaks!!

Nice topic Smile There were a few things I'd like to point out, though (I can't let any story alone without ripping it to pieces Smile)

First of all, I suggest you don't refer to J.K. Rowling as "J.K." but instead as Rowling or something. Otherwise it doesn't sound very good.
In the fourth paragraph there is a contradictory sentence that basically says "A boy wizard, who discovers he's a wizard". I feel you should explain that he was raised in thought he was just an ordinary boy. That doesn't really come out, and if someone who didn't know anything about HP read this, he/she wouldn't get the idea. I think.
You also use quite a lot of "discovers" throughout the text. I know it's a great word, but in some parts they could be changed so it doesn't sound repetition.

I hope this was of any help Smile Interesting article, overall!

Oh, memories...
It's remembered me about the night I wait in the library just to have my HP7. Lol, it took so long that my mother was sure that I was kidnapped or something like that- she was waiting with the securities -_-*. I read it the whole night and at 9 I finished it. But when I woke up, I didn't remeber the 10 last chapters...

I didn't re-read the book yet. Don't know why. Well, I read it in French, just in case I didn 't understand some things, lol, but I saw that the french version was censored- what Molly Weasley says became something less cursed.

I like your text, too.

Here: We learn knew things about the characters,
knew? New.

Good job!
