Storm---

Storm quickly helped bind the mage. He took all the daggers from him and watched as his fingers were tied together in such a strange way there would be no way he would be able to cast a spell.

"We should break his fingers. He won't be able to cast any spells that way." Storm said smiling, "What do y'all say?"

Christian

I sighed and pushed my hair away from my eyes. "There's a possibility of attack on the tower."

His eyes went wide, "tell me everything."

"Cara would be more...knowledgable in that," I said clutching her a little tighter to my side.

Cara---

Cara looked at Christian her eyes pleading him to tell instead of her, but he shook his head. She frowned and looked at the mage.

"Well, I kinda overheard them talking about an attack on this tower. At the time I didn't know what it was and could care less. But then I ran into Christian and his family and they told me otherwise." She said leaning against Christian as she told him everything she knew. When she was done she looked at the mage then CHristian.

I squeezed her shoulders. Then looked at Damian, "you're going to need-"

"To kill them I know."

*sorry block*

Christian

My chest clenched, were they all right? I wanted to go check. "Can we get her wolf now?" I'd feel much better going to check on my family when I knew she would be safe.

Caspan-

With a quick glance to Ramere, who seemed to wince at the thought, I turned to Storm.

"If you want to."

He smiled again. I couldn't help but shudder and pressed Kayla's head to my chest. With every loud crack Ramere flinched visibly, his own fingers toying with his robes.

I could understand his anxiety. He had told me (after I had accidentally broken two of his fingers when we were younger) that a mages hands, or fingers, to be more specific, were his livelihood. Without them, it didn't matter how many spells you knew, most of the wouldn't work.

I glanced across the fire at Ramere, trying to draw my attention away from the horrible snaps. The young mage seemed to be slipping. His eyelids would droop for a few seconds before he started awake again suddenly, biting his lip so hard a small trickle of blood ran down his chin. I didn't think it was the breaking of the enemy mages fingers that was making him so uneasy.

Arabella lowered her head to his, murmuring soft words that I didn't catch. His reply was faint, but louder then Arabella's, allowing me to catch some of his response.

"...can't...another...powerful mage...unaware...off-guard...unable to help..."

I sighed, knowing full well how stubborn he could be. I mentally wished Arabella luck before lowering my own head and kissing the top of Kayla's lightly.

"Are you alright, love?" I asked quietly.

Kayla

I nodded slowly shaking slightly. "I-I've nev-v-ver done anything like that before. I-I-It was...t-t-t-terrifying."

HIs arms came around me, holding me safe. I felt better now.

Cara---

"He is heading this way now." The mage smiled, just then Fire walked in and ran over to her sniffing her legs and looking her over to make sure she was ok.

"Let's go check on them." SHe smiled up at Christian.

Caspan-

"We're safe now, don't worry. I'd never let them hurt you," I said softly into her hair.

>.< Short!

Kayla

I leaned back into him, "I know, it was...just so terrifying."

He kissed her cheek.

Christian

"You're not going," I said bluntly, "it's too dangerous."

"I'm safer with you!"

"Or Fire," I said. He can keep you safe here while I go check on them." Before she could protest again I kissed her forehead and flew off. Please, keep her safe I begged to Fire.

Alright. He replied, Cara, get on. Cara climbed on his back and they shot after Christian.

He's going to kill me.

I think you are safer with people we know and trust then mages. He replied. They landed in a tree watching the others.

THEY GOT HURT! Cara gasped, It's my fault.

Christian

I landed and immediately my eyes shot to Ramere, "is he alright?" I asked Caspan and Kayla.

"Hes fine," Caspan assured me, "exaustian just caught up with him."

"IS everybody else fine?"

THey nodded. I was almost weak with relief. I sensed Cara nearby, strange how I knew that. But it didn't matter. "You can come out now Cara," I said, "nobody was hurt too bad."

Cara---

Cara jumped out of the tree with Fire behind her. She walked over to him.

"I told you to stay." He said wrapping his arms around her.

"Fire and me agreed that we should come with you, that I was safer with y'all then the mages." She replied, "We don't exactly trust mages." She said laying her head against his chest.
