FADE IN:
INT. KITCHEN - MORNING
James and Luke are standing in the kitchen. Luke is pouring a glass of orange juice, and James is studying the refrigerator.
JAMES
I mean, just because they're interested doesn't mean they'll do it.
Luke nods and sets the now empty bottle of orange juice down on the counter.
LUKE
Yeah, you're right. I was interested when I read it; didn't mean I was going to publish it.
James closes the refrigerator door and turns around, shrugging.
JAMES
Exactly. So, no deal. I'm not going.
Luke smiles and tips his glass.
LUKE
Cheers, then.
James smiles back and glances to the empty carton.
JAMES
Was that the last of the orange juice?
Luke nods as James walks over and suddenly grabs the glass from his hand. James takes a sip and hands it back.
JAMES (CONT'D)
Ass. How're things with that girl? Sibel? Sidney? Si--
LUKE
Simone, and I think it's going well. She said she wanted to talk to me tonight, so…I don't know what that means, really, but things seem okay.
James shakes his head.
JAMES
You only want to talk about a relationship when something's wrong.
Luke stares at him blankly.
LUKE
Gee, thanks for the support.
Lena walks in in her bathrobe and rolls her eyes.
LENA
Could you guys sleep last night?
James and Luke glance to each other.
JAMES
Yeah…. Why?
Lena walks over to the refrigerator and opens it, inspecting its contents.
LENA
Um…because it sounded like wildebeests were making love across the hall?
Luke chokes on his orange juice and sets down the glass. Lena turns and notices the empty carton.
LENA (CONT'D)
Did you take the last of the orange juice?
Lena walks over and grabs the glass from the counter and takes a drink before Luke can respond.
LUKE
Hey! That's mine!
Lena gags and shoves the glass into Luke's hands as Alex and Sunshine stumble past them into the kitchen. Sunshine is wearing a sunflower dress with sandals, and Alex is wearing a light blue speedo. Luke gags while quickly scooping his glass of orange juice up and moving towards James.
JAMES
(recoiling from Alex)
Um…hi.
Alex flips him off and nuzzles the back of Sunshine's neck, wrapping his arms around her sides.
ALEX
Psh, you know you like it.
Sunshine giggles and pulls away from him, opening the refrigerator.
LENA
What the hell are you wearing, Sunshine? You look like you're about to throw hen scratch in the yard.
Sunshine, intent on the refrigerator, is oblivious to Lena's comment.
SUNSHINE
This? It's a sunflower dress. My aunt gave it to me when I turned fourteen, and I've kept it ever since. I have another one in the closet, if you'd like to try it--
LUKE
Oh, before you ask, I took the last of the orange juice, and no, you can't have any, either.
Sunshine glances over her shoulder at him and shudders.
SUNSHINE
You mean that artificial, concentrate orange juice? Treated with pesticides and processed in warehouses enslaving starving children? No, thanks, you can keep your blood juice.
Luke grins, relieved.
LUKE
Thank God. Finally somebody with a conscience.
Alex turns around, revealing an erection and causing James and Luke to both look away and cringe.
JAMES
Jesus, put on some pants.
Lena blinks, horrified.
ALEX
Oh come on, it's just a natural, masculine physiological response to the morning. And it's a scientific fact that there's nothing wrong with it. Haven't you guys woken up with boners since you got here?
Luke holds up a finger, still looking away.
LUKE
Scientific counter-fact: if so, I haven't had to see it.
Lena smirks, slightly amused, and points.
LENA
Is that…stuffed?
Alex gapes in offense as Sunshine closes the refrigerator door and moves to the pantry.
ALEX
Why the hell would it be stuffed?
Lena shrugs, giggling.
LENA
Well, maybe you should start thinking about it….
ALEX
Yeah? Well maybe you should think about tanning--you're practically the consistency of…cottage cheese!
James turns and leaves the kitchen.
LENA
Uhm, consistency? You mean complexion? I'm practically the complexion of cottage cheese. If I were the consistency of cottage cheese--
ALEX
(interrupting)
I know what consistency is.
LENA
--my tits would be rolling off, or in a lasagna…or rolling around in a lasagna.
Luke realizes James is gone and follows his lead. Alex dismisses Lena with a wave of his hand and peers around her to see what James and Luke are doing.
ALEX
(motioning to the living room)
Probably going to beat each other off now that they've seen Little Alex. I know I sure would.
Sunshine closes the pantry door and throws a glare in Lena's general direction.
LENA
(snorting)
I don't doubt that.
Sunshine clears her throat and drapes her arms over Alex's chest.
SUNSHINE
Lena, could you excuse us now? Alex has a busy day today and we need to get ready now.
Lena arches her eyebrow.
LENA
In the kitchen?
The doorbell rings and Lena looks over her shoulder before shrugging them off and walking to the door.
LENA (CONT'D) (O.S.)
Whatever.
Sunshine sighs as soon as Lena is out of sight and starts pacing back and forth as Alex opens the pantry.
SUNSHINE
I just don't know what I did to make her hate me so much! I tried to be nice and help her find her feminine balance, but she hates me anyway.
Alex picks out two cans from the pantry and reads the nutritional information on both, comparing them.
ALEX
Which do you think? Carbs in the morning or no?
Sunshine sighs and bends down, scooping up Tigerlily with one hand.
SUNSHINE
Carbs. I've tried so hard to be her friend! I thought we'd be friends, too, but she just hates me.
Alex nods and puts the cans up, looking around at other items. Sunshine runs her hand through her hair and coos down at Tigerlily. She lifts the kitten up to her mouth and kisses the back of her neck. Tigerlily looks around, its front paw splinted and wrapped in gauze.
SUNSHINE (CONT'D)
(to Tigerlily)
I guess I still have you, huh?
Alex struts over to her and puts his arm around Sunshine.
ALEX
Of course you do. You'll always have me.
Tigerlily mews and wiggles in Sunshine's hand, forcing her to put her down.
CUT TO:
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
James is standing in the doorway, shocked at the sight of MANDY, his ex. Lena and Luke are standing off, almost in the living room, watching as events unfold.
JAMES
(confused)
Uh, Mandy…? What are--how did you get here?
Mandy takes off her sunglasses and brushes her hair back. Disregarding the existence of Luke and Lena, she steps in the doorway and forcefully kisses James. She slowly pulls away, smiling.
MANDY
That was for leaving and not saying bye.
James stares at her, stunned again, and slowly swallows.
LENA
(whispering to Luke)
You should take note: he likes it rough…and country.
Luke hits her shoulder and scowls.
JAMES
Well, I…. You aren't mad, or anything?
Mandy pushes past him into the house and closes the door.
MANDY
Of course not! Well, okay, maybe I was a little mad at first, for a few weeks, but then it subsided and now it's just…love, all over again! Besides, since you never said bye, it was like you never left!
Lena's eyes bug out.
LENA
(whispering to Luke)
…and a little on the crazy side…
James furrows his brow but doesn't move. Luke looks from James to Mandy and shifts in place, while Lena tries to stifle a laugh.
JAMES
Really? Because I…sort of left without telling you. On purpose.
Mandy grins and shakes her head, shrugging.
MANDY
I know, Jamesy, because I was a crazy bitch then, but not having you…it's like I couldn't breathe. I couldn't get out of bed. The pain was paralyzing, and not even knowing why….
They all remain still, awkwardness pervading the air. James opens his mouth to respond, but then something stops him.
LENA
(loudly)
Phew, y'all, it's getting' tenser than a bull's ass in here; I think I need to go lie down.
Mandy ignores Lena's teasing and grabs James's shoulders and pulls him towards her, eyes pleading up at him.
MANDY
(voice breaking)
I love you, James. I always have. I just forgot what was what the last two months, with everything going on, I just forgot, and I'm sorry. Waking up every morning and not being able to hear your laugh or touch your arms--how do you recreate what isn't yours? What never was?
Lena and Luke watch quietly now, more reserved. Mandy tries to kiss James again, but James pulls away and brushes her hands off his arms.
JAMES
Mandy, I don't know what to say to you. I left because I couldn't function around you anymore; I liked you--I loved you--and you broke that, broke me, and left--
MANDY
I know, I know! And I am so sorry, James. Will you please, just…come have coffee with me? We can talk about it, and about us. We can make things right.
James looks at her for a moment before realizing Luke and Lena are still there.
Slightly startled, he clears his throat and nods at Luke.
JAMES
You still wanna come with me later on that job?
Luke nods and moves over to the stairs.
LUKE
Yeah, sure, just call me…
He looks over at Mandy and then shrugs.
LUKE (CONT'D)
Or, yeah…at three, right?
James nods and touches Mandy's shoulder as he opens the door.
JAMES
Yep. I'll be back.
Mandy suddenly turns and curtsies to Lena, making sure she holds Lena's gaze.
MANDY
(emphasizing her twang)
It was so nice to meet y'all! Take care now, ya hear?
James pulls Mandy out the door and closes it. Luke looks sternly at Lena.
LENA
What?
Luke folds his arms across his chest.
LUKE
Tenser than a bull's ass? Did you have to say that, really?
Lena recoils, glaring at him.
LENA
Okay, well, in my defense, it was a bit of an understatement, but I thought you'd be embarrassed if I said tighter than your ass.
Luke stares at her, unamused.
LENA (CONT'D)
I was just joking! I thought you'd appreciate that, since she's trying to steal your best friend and all.
Luke rolls his eyes and starts on the stairs.
LUKE
She isn't stealing him. He already said he'd stay, anyway.
Lena unsuccessfully tries to suppress a laugh.
LENA
Oh, please. Did you see the look in his eyes? Totally pussy-whipped.
Luke shakes his head.
LUKE
He is not. His ex just shows up--how is he supposed to act? She doesn't own him.
Lena shrugs.
LENA
Well, you heard the woman! Apparently James isn't owned by anyone--he's free, like a bird!
Lena suddenly looks down the hall as Tigerlily limps towards them.
LENA (CONT'D)
(distracted)
Or--no…not a bird!--the wind! He's like the wind.
Luke rolls his eyes and turns away from her as she starts to the kitchen.
LENA (CONT'D)
(muttering, distracted))
Because you can shoot a bird. You can only…break…the wind.
Luke pauses, blinking, aghast at her pun. He doesn't bother to respond, instead quickly disappearing up the stairs and into the bedroom.
CUT TO:
EXT. CAFÉ -DAY
Ann and Jeremy are sitting outside on the patio. Other businessmen and women are sitting about, chatting quietly. Ann is wearing dark sunglasses and an Armani suit; Jeremy is wearing jeans and a t-shirt and has his backpack. Ann lights a cigarette as Jeremy takes a drink from his glass of water and watches her carefully.
JEREMY
I thought you quit.
Ann takes a drag before responding.
ANN
(snappy)
I did. And then your business model happened.
Jeremy swallows and looks down at his glass. He doesn't make eye contact for a few moments, forcing an awkward tension between them.
ANN (CONT'D)
Look, I don't mind funding this because you believe in it, but I didn't see one fucking item in your proposal that involved emergency fucking cat surgery.
Jeremy looks up but doesn't say anything.
ANN (CONT'D)
(frustrated)
Don't give me that shit, Jeremy. I let it slide because you said you could cut the budget, but unless you're going to starve and deprive them of electricity and water for a few months, there is no way to recoup what we've lost. Get rid of one of them, or I will.
Jeremy sighs and folds his arms over his chest, leaning back in the chair as the wind picks up.
JEREMY
They're good people, Ann, you just need to give--
ANN
Good fucking people don't charge a three thousand dollar vet bill to your account without notifying you first, Jeremy. This isn't a negotiation anymore.
Ann smushes her cigarette against the table and checks her watch. She rolls her eyes and stands up, snatching her purse and brushing back her hair from her face.
ANN (CONT'D)
(frustrated)
I have to go. I swear to God, Harvey Lions thinks he needs counsel just to wipe his ass. I already have to clean up after your shit, and I don't like it.
Jeremy stands up to kiss her bye.
JEREMY
(smiling sheepishly)
Well at least you'll have some experience when we have kids.
Ann groans and quickly kisses him on the cheek and hugs him.
ANN
You better fucking watch yourself, Jeremy. Harvey will bury you alive if you're not careful, and I absolutely refuse to have a conflict of interest jeopardizing my job.
She pulls out her cell phone and flips it open. Jeremy glances to the empty table.
JEREMY
What about--or, okay, well, call me when--
Ann nods and starts walking to her car.
ANN
I'll call you when I'm headed home.
Jeremy nods and sits back down, glancing to the waiter as he sets down their food.
JEREMY
I'll just take the check.
CUT TO:
INT. MANDY'S CAR - DAY
James looks over at Mandy as she drives. She glances back, grinning.
JAMES
So…things are actually okay? Really?
Mandy, distracted by traffic, barely nods.
MANDY
We worried about you a lot. Nobody was angry, just upset. You mean a lot to us, James, and we want, and need, you back.
James nods and looks out the passenger window at the passing buildings and cars. He's lost in thought until Mandy puts her hand on his thigh, squeezing it. James looks over at her again.
JAMES
Yes?
Mandy giggles.
MANDY
What if we…you know? Just make sure we've still got it.
James's face almost flushes red as Mandy's hand moves towards his zipper. He squirms away from her, clearing his throat.
JAMES
(quickly)
I, uh…it would--well, wouldn't it impede your driving?
Mandy snorts.
MANDY
Fine, we'll go to your bedroom.
JAMES
Um…Luke is also there?
MANDY
What? Don't like an audience?
James sits in an uncomfortable silence.
MANDY (CONT'D)
I'm just kidding! I know you get stage fright; you can barely finish peeing if someone walks in on you. We could just do it here, in the backseat--see if I can't convince you to come.
James blinks.
JAMES
Well that was…subtle…
Mandy deadpans at him.
MANDY
I meant come home, silly.
JAMES
(laughing)
I know, but, still, I should call Luke and tell him.
MANDY
Why? When did Luke become so important?
James shrugs as Mandy pulls into a gas station.
JAMES
He didn't. It's just that…we live together, so I figured he should know what I decide, right?
Mandy arches her eyebrows at him and opens the car door.
MANDY
Whatever, James. I'm going to go get a drink--you want anything?
James shakes his head and opens his phone.
JAMES
Thanks, but I'm fine.
Mandy winks as she gets out.
MANDY
You sure are.
He dials Luke as she closes the door and walks inside. He watches her closely until Luke answers.
JAMES
(into phone)
Hello?
CUT TO:
INT. JAMES'S AND LUKE'S BEDROOM - DAY
Luke is lying on the bed, half-asleep.
LUKE
(into phone)
Hey. What's up?
INTERCUT WITH Mandy's car.
JAMES
(same)
I was just calling to tell you that I think I'm gonna take the deal, just see what they have to offer.
INTERCUT WITH James's and Luke's bedroom.
Luke pushes himself up on the bed.
LUKE
(same)
What? I thought you said you weren't going to?
INTERCUT WITH Mandy's car.
JAMES
(same)
I know, but I think Mandy is genuinely sorry about what happened and really wants to just…try again.
James looks out the window and hesitates.
JAMES (CONT'D)
(same)
Do you think I should go?
INTERCUT WITH James's and Luke's bedroom.
Luke sits still for a few seconds, staring at the wall until the faint, ghost-like "Hello? You there?" pulls him back.
LUKE
(same)
I think that you should…you should do whatever you want.
INTERCUT WITH Mandy's car.
James nods slowly, slightly disappointed.
JAMES
(same)
Okay. Then I think I'm gonna go.
INTERCUT WITH James's and Luke's bedroom.
LUKE
(same)
Then go. You should at least see what they say, right?
INTERCUT WITH Mandy's car.
James takes a breath and then shrugs.
JAMES
(same)
Yeah…exactly.
Mandy suddenly opens his door and forces a condom in his open hand, startling him.
MANDY
You ready?
James clears his throat and pulls away from her.
JAMES
(same)
Hey, Luke? I've gotta go, okay? I'll still see you later today, right?
INTERCUT WITH James's and Luke's bedroom.
LUKE
(same)
Yeah, totally. Of course.
INTERCUT WITH Mandy's car.
JAMES
Okay. Byee, Luke!
James grins and then hangs up. He looks over to Mandy, who stares down at him expectantly.
MANDY
Ready?
CUT TO:
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
Lena and Alex, now dressed, are sitting on the couch. Alex is flipping through channels on the TV while Lena is reading submissions on her laptop. Lena squints as she reads the newest one.
LENA
Who exactly titles their story, "Swollen Grapes"?
Alex snorts and changes the channel again.
ALEX
Someone who's either seen too much porn or not enough. I remember going through old things I'd written, and I had a story called, "Alone and Solo."
Luke comes down the stairs, yawning and stretching in PJs.
LUKE
Did James come by?
LENA
How eerily prescient.
Alex suddenly pulls away from her, horrified. Luke walks in and sits beside Lena.
ALEX
(worried)
You've seen it?
Lena looks up from her screen and sees the expression on Alex's face.
LENA
Wait. Seen…it?
(beat)
Oh. My. God. Tell me you didn't do what I think you did.
LUKE
(interested)
What?
Alex tries to regain his composure and shakes his head.
ALEX
No, it was nothing. Really.
Lena sighs gratefully and looks back at her computer.
LENA
(relieved)
Oh, thank God.
Luke stares at them confusedly but resigns himself to not knowing. Alex shifts nervously in position before finally trying to explain himself.
ALEX
I was broke, okay? I needed some cash, and--
Lena throws her hands up and interrupts.
LENA
Ack! Stop speaking, now!
Luke looks from one to the other as he puts the pieces together.
LUKE
Wait…did you…?
Alex stands up, conflated.
ALEX
Yes! Yes, I made a porno a few years ago, okay? I had to. Now don't tell Sunshine, please? She doesn't know, and she doesn't need to.
LENA
I'm trying to erase the trauma right now. I think we all just need to try to calm…down…
Luke shrugs, grinning.
LUKE
Well, I might tell her just because you ended that sentence with a preposition.
Alex gapes.
ALEX
I…what?
Lena holds up her hands in defiance at the conversation as James comes through the front door.
LENA
No! No more! The only thing I want "Alone and Solo" now is myself, reading through these stories.
James furrows his brow and looks at all of them, then notices Luke's not dressed. He glances down at his watch.
JAMES
Hey…I…are you going with me? Sorry, I was a little late getting back, but I thought-- you were gonna come--?
Luke stands up and runs his hand through his hair.
LUKE
Oh bloody fucking hell, I'm sorry. I totally forgot! I haven't changed my watch from GMT, and I--I should have called you--oh man, I'm so sorry.
James shrugs and opens the door again.
JAMES
No, it's okay. I just, I'm sorry--I should have called to make sure you still wanted to go before I came back. But I--just thought you were going. Sorry. Hah, I guess need to go--bye, guys.
Luke looks at him apologetically.
LUKE
I'm sorry.
JAMES
It's okay, but you are gonna be here tonight to tell me bye, right?
LUKE
Of course.
James grins as he steps outside.
JAMES
You better be.
He closes the door, leaving the three of them in a stunned silence.
LENA
Awww-kward.
Luke looks down at her, shrugging.
LUKE
What?
Alex folds his arms over his chest and smirks.
LENA
Oh please. As if you don't know.
ALEX
What were they even apologizing about after the third one?
Luke glares at them. Lena closes her laptop and laughs.
LENA
(mockingly)
Oh, Luke, I'm sorry, I should have called--no, James, I'm sorry, it's my fault--no, it's my fault--it's--
ALEX
(loudly interrupting, excitedly)
Awkward, raunchy make-up sex!
Lena and Luke both stare at him, terrified.
LUKE
I have to go get ready for my date.
Lena stands up, still staring at Alex.
LENA
I feel like I need to go take a shower.
Alex nods.
ALEX
You do, you stink.
Luke rolls his eyes.
LENA
Oh, that's right, you like your women marinated.
CUT TO:
INT. UPSCALE RESTAURANT - NIGHT
Luke and SIMONE are sitting at a table. A tall red candle sits between them, flickering back and forth.
SIMONE
You seem distracted. Is something wrong?
Luke shakes his head and shrugs.
LUKE
Nope, nothing. Sorry, I'm just a little out of it today. Jet-lag and all.
Simone smiles at him.
SIMONE
Luke…you make me really, really happy. You're a great guy, and I just--
LUKE
You wanna break up with me?
Simone gasps and puts her hand over her chest, eyes full of hurt.
SIMONE
Oh my goodness, of course not! Who would ever want to leave you?
Luke shrugs, glancing off at the carpet.
SIMONE (CONT'D)
What I was going to say is, you've been such a great guy, and I just...there's something I absolutely need to tell you before we go any farther.
Luke blinks, clearly trying to figure out what it could be.
LUKE
Were you…did you used to be a guy?
SIMONE
(laughing)
Awww. You're so cute, but no, I'm all natural.
Luke sighs.
LUKE
What a relief.
Simone giggles again.
SIMONE
Luke, I'm a Jehova's Witness.
Luke grins, shrugging.
LUKE
Okay, so you believe in God? Wow, shocking. Who doesn't over here?
Simone smiles back and touches his hand.
SIMONE
Yes, it does mean that, but it also means that I believe in the doctrines of my Lord the savior Jesus Christ, and the most important one for a relationship is abstinence before marriage.
Luke does a double-take and then bites his lip, studying her.
LUKE
Are you kidding…?
Simone shakes her head happily.
SIMONE
Not at all! I would never joke about my religion. It's practically my life!
Luke looks down at his watch and then back up at her.
SIMONE (CONT'D)
Well, until I met you….
Luke laughs and then grins up at her.
SIMONE (CONT'D)
Do you…think you might want to come back to my place tonight? I have some verses I'd like to show you, and we can talk about things.
Luke's cell phone suddenly rings. He pulls it out and looks down at the caller before ignoring the call.
LUKE
(grinning)
Yeah, I'd like that. I think I would.
CUT TO:
INT. KITCHEN - EVENING
James and Mandy are looking at the two boxes on the counter, making sure they have all of their stuff. Lena stands abjectly in the corner, watching, and Sunshine and Alex are humming loudly as they walk around James and Mandy
JAMES
Have you guys heard from Luke? He said he'd be here…
Lena shakes her head.
LENA
No--miss your Lukeypie already?
Sunshine glares at her and hums louder as she and Alex make another circle around James and Mandy. Jeremy opens the front door and peers in, smiling sadly.
JAMES
Hey, Jeremy! I was gonna stop by your place in twenty minutes or so!
Jeremy nods at him and walks into the kitchen.
JEREMY
Hi, James. Why's that? And you are--?
JAMES
This is Mandy. She was--is my girlfriend.
Jeremy shakes her hand.
JEREMY
Good to meet you.
Jeremy watches in confusion as Sunshine's and Alex's circle encompasses him and Mandy and James now.
JEREMY (CONT'D)
(slowly)
So, guys, due to--
James holds up his hand and interrupts.
JAMES
Jeremy, I didn't tell you this earlier, but my agent got me a publishing deal with RandomHouse. I guess because I didn't really know what to say until now, but part of their terms are that I leave your company--
MANDY
And he's decided he needs to at least see what they say.
Jeremy recoils, nodding.
JEREMY
Oh. Huh. Yeah.
James nods.
JAMES
Yeah, so…I was--we were gonna come by and tell you personally, after saying bye to everyone here, but since you stopped by…
Jeremy nods again. He watches Sunshine and Alex make yet another circle before sitting down on the floor.
JEREMY
No, it's okay. I just--wow, I'm sorry, congratulations, James! That's an incredible offer, and you're right to at least see what they have to say. We'll still be here if things don't work out, and all.
James smiles as Mandy grabs one of the boxes and hoists it on her hip.
JAMES
Hey! Have you heard from Luke?
Jeremy shakes his head, shrugging.
JEREMY
Nope, why?
James furrows his brow.
JAMES
He said he'd be here. I tried calling him earlier, but he didn't answer.
Alex looks up.
ALEX
He did have a date tonight…
Lena walks around the counter to them, scoffing down at Sunshine and Alex.
LENA
What the hell are you two doing?
Sunshine slowly looks up at them.
SUNSHINE
We are bringing good fortune to our friend James.
James grins.
JAMES
I appreciate that.
Mandy starts down the hall toward the front door.
MANDY
Meet me out at the car with the others?
JAMES
Sure thing. I was just gonna wait a little bit more for Luke…
Mandy rolls her eyes.
MANDY
You know, they have this thang called email--you might ought to try it sometime.
They all stand there staring at each other as Mandy disappears through the front door.
SUNSHINE
James, would you like me to tell Luke you said bye?
James nods.
JAMES
Please?
Sunshine stands up and wraps her arms around James's shoulders, groaning a little.
SUNSHINE
Of course.
(beat)
Take care, James. We will miss you deeply.
Sunshine pulls away and Lena walks up to him, eyes on the ground.
LENA
Yeah, we'll miss you…I'm sure Luke will to, even if he isn't here.
James smiles sadly again.
JAMES
Thanks guys. I'll keep in touch and let everyone know how real publishing companies do it.
Jeremy laughs and pats him on the back.
LENA
Bye, James.
Sunshine and Alex wave as James picks up the other box.
SUNSHINE & ALEX
Bye, James!
Jeremy nods and smiles.
JEREMY
Huh, yeah. Bye, James.
FADE OUT.
THE END. |
