Write me a beginning! Basically, you must write me an introduction to a story, up to 2000 words, no more. Just go crazy! No rules aside from that, just that the best one wins.

Prizes - Same old...

1) 3 decent crits on 3 pieces + 200 points
2) 2 " " " 2 " + 100 points
3) 1 " " " 1 " + 50 points

Post the link to it in this forum, maximum of 2 entries.

EDIT: The deadline has been extended.

Can it be the intro you're already written?

I'd like to try this. No guarantees, but I think I'll enter.

Is there a minimum word limit?

Oh, and when is the deadline?

No min, no max (within limits) word count.

It'd be great if you could enter, the ending is (haha!...) on the 31st.

*raises hand and jumps up and down* Oh! me! me! I have a question!

Can we enter more than one beginning? Cause as much as I love DoaV I am tempted to write another intro just to see if it's any good. *loves drama* Very Happy

Oh! Also, do we post a link, or do we post the beginning here?

Hmm... I might enter. The problem is, when I say that, I usually don't. So, just a beginning. What are we judged on? If I know I can think of what I should enter.

This is my beginning to my short story triliogy... hopefully.

Pianissimo

You've already read this, so it should be easy to judge.

Oh goodie! More entrants! Watch out people, Pianissimo is goooood!

What will I be looking for? :-

Does it capture my interest, would I want to read on?
Is it original?
How is the grammar?
Does it flow well?

Those are the basics...
