Hey, I was just wondering what everyone did to procrastinate from writing/editing/planning/etc.

I'm not sure if this is in the right spot (couldn't find anywhere else,) but I guess you can say it's tips on what to avoid doing, since they will suck you into a hole of non-writingness. Razz

What is my downfall?

Freecell.

Yeah, YWS is mostly my big one. I use it for general procrastination as well, not just writing. Wink

The internet and television. Pretty much anything really. I'm a horrible procrastinator; I really need to break the habit but I it's difficult.

I usually lolly-gag on Regina Spektor's site, this site, yahoo answers, and myspace...

YWS
Myspace
TV
Chatting to friends.

Anything that keeps me away from my actual writing pad. Sometimes I can waste minutes just by staring out of the window. Shocked

As Jabber said, writing is my way of avoiding things at school. Hehe.

Play Minesweeper. Or Tetris.

Or post on forums. Rolling Eyes

I've always wanted to know though, is saying the word 'procrastination' a bit of an American thing? In the UK, if you asked most people what it meant they'd go 'huh?' and no one would ever use it in conversation.

If you did, people would think you were a bit pretentious, and yet often on forums a lot of Americans seem to use it. Confused Is it just me wondering if it's purely an American thing?

Yeah, I'm in the US and I hear people say it all the time. Some people are too lazy, since it IS five syllables, but people still use it. Razz

British and American people vary greatly; it's hard while editing. O.o
