Not Everything In This Post Is Necessarily True Anymore

The new points policy will be going into effect on August 7th. At that time, the following changes will occur:

- All points will be reset to 500 every two weeks. This is a return to the original policy on points, which was only changed because of the dynamic avatars that only lasted a month.

- The points leader at the end of every two weeks will be featured on the front page.

- Topics and posts will cost you 10 points in The Lounge and 15 points in Randomness. But you get essentially 50 free posts in The Lounge or 33 posts in Randomness as points are reset to 500 (not 0) every two weeks.

- Topics and posts in all other forums will garner you up to an extra fifty points.

I think it has good points and bad points. No pun intended.

I like that it gives everyone a fair chance at being the points leader. However, some people might be very active for two weeks in order to have the most points, but after they win, their activity on YWS could lower substantially. The old method of points showed the constant activity of 5 different members on the site, which reveals true devotion to YWS. I'm not saying that it should be changed back, but that both point protocols are good, and the old one shouldn't be scorned.

You're completely right Addie. Nice policy Nate. Fair and square.

o_O Did I miss another thread somewhere about this? I could have sworn everyone's points were reset to 300 and not 500.

EDIT: >.<!!! My bad. >.< *sees date* Embarassed I'll just go hunt around for the thread that explains the new system. >_>
