This contest was inspired by Brad (Incandescence).
Here's how it goes... each member may make a prediction about one or more of the following:
- Number of posts by the end of the month
- Number of users by the end of the month
- Number of topics by the end of the month
The winner of each category will win 200 points. If a member wins all three, then he/she will win 600 points. No predictions will be accepted after the fifth of the month. However, before the sixth of the month rolls around, you may change your predictions as much as you want. Do not double post though, just edit your original post.
The first edition of this contest concerns the month of March 2005. Here is where we stood at the very beginning of March:
Number of posts: 18314
Number of users: 280
Number of topics: 1490

You can update your prediction as much as you want before the sixth of the month. However, just edit your original post; do not make a new post. |

Only three entries? Ah well.
Anyways, I think all of you are way off!
In terms of posts, my guess is 27,500. However, the ranges that I came up with are from 26,000 to 29,000 posts by the end of March. February saw about 7,000 new posts and I'm sure March will top that.
Users is too hard to predict since it varies way too much. But lately we've had about three new members per day, so around 350 by the end of March.
Topics... probably about 1900. |
