Hey! I saw a post about vampires, and it inspired me to write about a werewolf! How cool is that? No one has written about werewolves! ~_~
So... um... what are werewolves? I mean, I know the basic storyline:
Human gets bitten by W.W.
Every full moon turns into W.W.
Only thing that can kill it is a 'silver bullet' ???? Is it really?
Is there anything else?
Oh, and what would be more interesting: a male or female to become the werewolf?
Please write back quick so that I can write it.. It'll be awesomely scary!! |

Copycat! Haha. Just kidding!
Ah, werewolves...seeing as they're a vampire's mortal enemy, I can't say I like them all that much. But I'll try to reply as best I can.
First of all, I like stories about male werewolves much better than ones about female werewolves. Don't know why, just do.
I don't really like the full moon thing. I think the werewolf should have a little more control over when he (or she...ugh) transforms. Maybe they can transform when they feel threatened. Or maybe they transform if they get too angry (like in the Twilight series!).
I think werewolf stories are a lot cooler if only certain people can become werewolves. Like maybe it's a hereditary thing and only people with werewolf-genes can become werewolves.
Now for the one thing that really bugs me: appearance. I hate it when werewolves just look like gigantic, hairy people. I prefer werewolves to look like actual wolves.
Hmm...that's all I can think of for now. |

I agree with BellaLuna, female werewolves are kind of annoying lol (well maybe not annoying, just not as interesting)
And maybe they dont have to be killed with just silver bullets. Maybe you can pick some other random object that nobody would imagine.
Maybe something silly like; the werewolf died from Windex (window washing soap stuff) lol |

... In one book I read shape-shifters (e.g. wolf ones) could be poisoned by chocolate. As in, chocolate is deadly for them. Don't give you're kid any Herseys.
I'm no werewolf expert, and I can't remember ever writing anything that has to do with werewolves, but I wanted to say that you don't have to stick to the 'well-known' facts about werewolves. As Jassie said - invent your own rules! |

Hey! I have decided some things about my werewovles:
(If you have any others, please tell me)
1. Werewolves can morph whenever they want.
2. Werewolves cannot breed. Shewolves do not last long enough to sustain the werewolf blood. They die from 4-6 months after being bitten. Werewolves try not to bite females, but if they have to, they get summoned to Fort Wolfgang (the headquarters of werewovles) and get killed.
3. Werewolves are bloody, monstrous beasts. Vampires are their enemies, and vampires want peace.
4. Silver bullets can kill werewovles, and silver bullets can kill us too. There is nothing special about silver. Anything can kill werewolves, but they cannot die of old age. They either have to be killed, or have a sickness.
Again, if you guys have any more ideas, please post them here! I am in desperate need for these for my NaNoWriMo!!!!! |

Where does that come from? I've never seen it mentioned in any vampire or werewolf lore, so I'm guessing it has to be based in a more modern story ... any idea?
I must say, I am not a fan of the whole "shape shifting" werewolf thing. You know, the kind who can morph at will? It's not based in any (werewolf) mythology that I know of (although there are different shape shifters that can change at will) and it makes them too powerful to really be very interesting. |

I read your short story and I have to agree w/ bellaluna a male is far more interesting than a female
heres an ex: 1.Lives during the Berserk; 14 or 15 centuray
2.He's a normal human or born by w.w family
3. centuries later walks among human; a wander some sort...........ect...

Meh, I've started my own version of werewolves but I love vampires too so I had to figure out how to incorperate them without sounding dreadfully boring. Thus far, it's very rough, the characters are already giving me problems - all the telltale signs of a first draft. Why do I always end up with several problematic characters????
Ah, well, the story is entitled, "Full Bloods versus Half Breeds."
I'm liking my vampy though. It's been fun trekking all over the dang world trying to find his ancesteral roots, why he speaks the way he does, and how the vamperic clan performs in the way of rules.
Anyway... I'm rambling... |

I advise you to check out Wikipedia for information on werewolves. It goes into the original mytholody, including how the term 'werewolf' originally came to be.
Since I use werewolves (and vampires, and zombies, and many other creepies) in my stories, I found the article particularly useful. DO give it a read.

Okay, first off, whats with the dissing on the female werewolves. (sorry, just that many of my fave characters are female, wolf or not)
But, anyway, I would suggest reading "Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Curtis Klause. Yes, the lead is female but it has insite into the idea of a pack mentality which I'm assuming there must be some of due to your mention of Fort Wolfgang (actually a very unique idea). |

My idea of werewolves is that they can transform at will, and that anything can kill them (including age).
A bit realist, but there you go. |
