Alrighty. The votes are in, and now to announce the winners:

Arieda- Your entry was well developed. The idea of what you had was creative and unique, but I didn't really find what I was looking for. As in, I couldn't find the deeper meaning of it. But, then again, I have been staring at words all day (school work and homework) so it may have just breezed past me. I'll take another look at yours and break it down a bit more. Overall, nicely done, Ari. Wink

Gadi- Your entry was nice. Great story, though you lost me once or twice. Some things I couldn't get as to how they were relevent to the story. (Example: the fish eggs) I wasn't sure where that fit in. I'll re-read yours as well and be back with the final results.

I have a winner in mind, but I want to make sure that you both have an equal shot, so I will read your stories one more time and see if my decision changes.

Ok. They've been re-read... and I get them both!! Wow. Amazing what re-reading can do for you. So, yeah, I understand them now. And..... now I'll shut up and tell you who won:

*~*~*Congratulations gadi!!*~*~*

You both did well, but I found "The Path to Azrael" to be a bit more of the idea I was looking for. I hope I got the plot right. Confused Is it that Sparitus is traveling a path to find his brother before he dies, and the path ends when his brother actually does die? Like his, I don't know, "life path"? The path of his life? That's what I got from it.

Nice job.

And thanks so much to Arieda for entering and staying committed to this! *hugs* I won't lie, your story was amazing, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. There are suppose to be TWO meanings, but I only found one. Sorry. Sad But great job anyway! Very Happy I look forward to reading something like that again sometime. ^^

And now for prizes:

gadi- 250 pts.

Arieda- 100 pts.

I'd do crits as well, but as you can tell, I hardly had anytime to even get back to this contest. So you would have to wait probably weeks before getting a critique from me. I miss this site. Sad *sad sigh*

CONGRATS AGAIN, GADI!!!! *party*

Thank you so much!
GREAT job you too Areida! You did excellent! Very Happy

And yes Syddles, you were correct. What I started with was the theme that death always comes in the end...and well, I sorta thought that Azrael would symbolize death, Spiritus life, and the path his lifeline.

Thank you so much again!
