You need to have more than 250 posts, then it becomes an option under personal info. |

What happened is you tried putting in the post number of the story rather than the topic number. If it says:
/post247136.html
Then you don't want to use it. Only use the numbers when the word preceding them is 'topic.' In your case, that would be:
/topic20262.html
So if you change the number from '247136' to '20262,' then it'll work.
Since I imagine this is a common problem, I'll add an ID number at the top of every post for people to use. |

| I just thought of this I'm sure alot of us just love some pieces by other people and sometimes would rather just get to them quickly without trawling through their profile. I suggest how about a thing like what you have but for different authors. I feel it'll be a good way to encourage more critqueing on older stuff because someone goes on ya profile and see's ya've someone elses work as a favourite. What ya think? |

You can already. In fact, in the original announcement, it explicitly states that the work does not need to be by yourself.
However, what you do not have in the featured works section is a "by suchandsuch." I neglected to add it earlier because the vast majority of people would feature only their works, and thus it'd just be repetitious. Yet, I could probably think of something where if the author is not equal to your name, then it displays the author's name.
Wouldn't be too hard to do, but I have a lot to do with very little time to do it in. So, expect it, but don't hold your breath. |

So, Nate, you say I can? I mean, I wouldnt mind making a newsletter every 2 weeks. If you dont mind, I could collect e-mails of people. Or, if you dont trust me (XD) I could make it and forward it to you and you could send it out. I am very experienced with e-mail newsletters-I do one for my grade. So you can get back to me whenever, Thanks.

A question: What is the "Subscribe" icon on the upper left hand corner of the home page? When I click on it, an erroe comes up?
Do we have a podcast or something?

Kylan, I think that's to subscribe to an RSS feed. I'm not entirely sure how that works...perhaps someone more informed on the workings of the internet can explain. I don't know why it wouldn't work for you, though.
On a completely different note, a YWS podcast would be SWEET. |

Yeah, TW has a podcast. I guess their first one aired recently.
But, then again, do they have a literary journal?

Kylan> It says subscribe (yes, Colly!) because of the RSS feed.
An RSS feed can be used [as far as I know] to hook up the updates to firefox (and possibly other browers?).
I can't really explain it unless you have fire fox. I am subscribed to the YWS blog, and it basically means I can click a button no matter where I am on the internet (it's part of the browser panel) and see a list of the titles of entries, so I can go to any of them from there. It's sort of an... update thingy.
Colly> I think we've been thinking about that? Nate's all super amazing awesome Admin busy, as always, but it might be (I forget ><) on the list of magical wonderful things we're eventually doing to brain wash you more thoroughly entertain your addiction.
Did that answer everything? |

The RSS feed is fixed.
Just_Imagine ->> Hold off for just a bit as I'm pretty sure I can get some tools together to make it a lot easier.
Podcast ->> It's been discussed a few times here and there, but I still don't know what the usefulness of it would be. It'd be cool, but it'd require a lot of time, and thus I want to make sure that it'll be useful before energy gets devoted to it. HOWEVER, there is something much, much cooler (yet similar) that I've been working on over the past couple months. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon! |

Not sure if this is where I post this, but I had a concern about the 'submit something' button under the Writing menu. I love the idea of a writing menu, but I'm afraid that it will cause more members to fall into the trap of submitting something before reading the rules or reviewing two pieces, as they won't see the rules if they simply click 'submit something'. |
