(Near the end there was a long speech that Squall gave right before they attacked the enemy. I wanted to write the whole thing but the game wouldn't stop and let me get it all. It wouldn't let me pause, either. So, sorry about that. Also, because of school I won't be able to post this story as often as I have been before, but I'll try to keep writing it when I can.)

Chapter 29:

Balamb Garden had been moving all day through the southern continent. The continent consisted of many small red soiled islands scattered across the ocean. It was difficult to traverse through the rough landscape. Tylor had been in his room all day sharpening his swords, preparing for the battle ahead.

Nida’s voice spoke through the school’s P.A. system. “Squall, Tylor, report to the bridge A.S.A.P.” Tylor strapped his swords to his back and headed out.

They both arrived at the bridge at the same time. Nida handed Squall a pair of binoculars. “Squall, take a look.”

He looked through the binoculars. Tylor didn’t need to look to know what he was seeing. It was Galbadia Garden.

Squall handed the binoculars back to Nida. “What do you think?”

“The battle is inevitable.” Squall told them.

Nida nodded. “The sorceress is with them, huh? So this is going to be the final battle?”

“I hope so.” Squall put his hand on his forehead and began to think, hard.

Tylor told him, “Squall, you need to give everyone orders.”

Squall sighed and switched the P.A. system on. “This is Squall speaking. This is an emergency so listen carefully. We’re going into battle against Galbadia Garden. 1st and 2nd Class Sabers, assemble in the parking lot. Those with MG Rank 3 or above, head for the 2nd floor deck and await instructions. Be sure to warm up. The enemy will probably come aboard. We must concentrate our forces at the front gate and the quad. If your Student ID number is even, report to the quad. If it’s odd, report to the front gate. Those who have Student ID numbers ending with an 8, take care of the junior students. Quistis, Zell, Selphie, Come up to the bridge right away.” Squall looked over at Tylor. “Is there anything you want to say?”

Tylor went up to the microphone. “This is Tylor speaking. My heart goes out to all of you. I want you all to give 110% out there. This is what we’ve been training for, make Balamb Garden proud.”

They heard Irvine’s voice from below. “Hey, hey, hey, what’s up? I’m not invited?” Tylor and Squall rode the lift down to Cid’s office and found Irvine, Selphie and Quistis waiting for them. “I thought I was part of the team?”

“Sorry about that.” Squall apologized.

Selphie started jumping up and down. “Whoo-hoo! Garden vs. the Sorceress, The Final Battle. This is so exciting!”

“What do you want us to do?” Quistis asked.

Squall told them, “I want you guys to help us lead the others. When Zell gets here, we’ll divide into two teams.”

Selphie looked worried. “Zell…? Umm, I think he’s taking a nap. Yeah, he said he hasn’t slept at all lately.”

Quistis glanced at her for a moment. “What…? Oh yeah.” Everyone nodded.

“What are you guys talking about?” Squall asked.

“Nothing. It’s our little secret.”

Squall shook his head and sighed. “I’m going to go check the quad. Who’s coming with me?”

Quistis: “I’ll come with you.”

Selphie: “Me, too!”

Squall nodded and turned to Tylor. “Tylor, take Irvine and find Zell. You guys work together and lead the team at the front gate.”

Tylor: “You can count on me, Squall.”

Irvine: “Alrighty!”

Squall told everyone, “We still have some time before the battle begins. Let’s make the most out of it and prepare.” He turned to his group and said, “Alright, let’s go to the quad.”

Before they left Tylor asked, “Squall, what about Rinoa?”

Squall folded his arms and thought for a moment. “You guys take care of her.” Tylor nodded as they entered the elevator and went down to the lobby. The elevator was too small for all of them to fit, so they had to let Squall’s team go down first.

When Tylor and Irvine finally got to the front gate they saw a large platoon of students waiting for them. Tylor stopped in front of them and spoke in a loud voice. “Everyone, I’ll be in charge of the front gate team. If I am unable to give orders you will listen to either Irvine Kinneas or Zell Dincht. This is the real thing, people. Don’t let anything get past the front gate!”

They all yelled, “Sir! Yes, sir!”

“Tylor!” He turned and saw Rinoa. “Have you seen Squall? I need to talk to him.”

Tylor pointed in the direction of the quad. “He went to the quad to check on everyone.”

“OK, thanks.”

Tylor stopped her before she ran off. “Rinoa. If you see Zell, tell him I need his help with leading the front gate team.”

She nodded. “Alright.” She ran off to find Squall.

A few minutes later Nida’s voice shouted through the P.A. “Squall, Tylor! Get back to the bridge right now!”

Tylor turned to Irvine. “Can I trust you to take care of things here?”

Irvine smiled. “No problem. Nothing’s getting past me in one piece.”

“Good luck.” Tylor went to the elevator and went up to the bridge.

Squall arrived at the bridge a few minutes later than Tylor. Nida pointed at the oncoming Galbadia Garden and said, “Look! Seifer is in charge over there. They’re heading right for us!”

“Just keep going.” Squall told him.

Nida pushed the Garden controls forward with all his might. Something was happening on Galbadia Garden’s deck. Galbadian soldiers on motorcycles were shot off the side of the Garden by rocket-powered jets and landed in the quad.

Galbadia Garden was going to ram into their school. Nida yelled, “We’re gonna crash!”

Tylor shouted, “Go right!”

Nida pushed the controls to the right as hard as he could. The entire Garden shook as it began to turn. Squall turned on the P.A. and said, “The enemy Garden is right by us! Quad team! Watch out!”

The enemy was getting too close. Tylor shouted, “Brace yourselves!” He and Squall grabbed hold of the railing and Nida clung onto the controls. The two Gardens collided. The entire place shook violently as the two entities clashed. Through the window Tylor could see a part of the quad break off. The collision would have been a lot worse if it had been head on, but the damage was still great.

Nida shouted over his shoulder. “Squall, Tylor, you two need to get back to the battle!”

Squall told Nida, “Do everything you can to keep that from happening again.” Together they left the bridge and rode the elevator back down to the first floor.

The front gate team had been doing well with keeping the enemies from getting through, but they were beginning to break through. Tylor and Squall joined Irvine in leading everyone.

“Squall!!!”

They turned and saw Zell running over. Squall asked, “Where have you been?”

“Rinoa’s in trouble!”

“What!?”

“She fell off the side of the Garden when we collided. Quistis and Selphie are trying to get her back up, but if we don’t do something soon she’s gonna die!”

“Squall, listen up! The enemy is attacking the classroom, they're coming in from the sky. The junior students are there, we have to do something fast!”

Tylor yelled, “They’re turning back around!” They could see Galbadia Garden turning around to ram them again.

Zell yelled, “Squall! Are you listening!?”

“YEAH!!! But she’s not the only one in danger!”

Irvine said, “Didn’t think you were so heartless, Squall. Rinoa is gonna die! Don’t you realize that!?”

Squall explained, “I know, but I can’t leave here either! We’re barely holding them off as it is!”

“I’ll go help the junior students.” Tylor said. “Squall can stay here and help defend the front gate.” He pointed at Zell and Irvine. “You two will go to the quad and help Rinoa. Do whatever it takes to save her!”

“Leave it to us!” Zell said.

Just then the two Gardens collided, this time from behind. The entire place shook as if they were in the middle of an earthquake. They had to move fast.

Tylor got to the classroom as fast as he could. He saw a few of the junior students and a senior huddled in a corner. The windows smashed as four Galbadian soldiers in green uniforms jumped in.

Tylor grabbed both his swords and shouted to the senior protecting the junior students. “Get them out of here!” The senior nodded and led the students out of the room.

One of the soldiers said, “Dispose of this Garden as planned!”

There wasn’t much room to manoeuvre, the classroom was full of computer desks. The upside to this was that it gave Tylor more cover from attacks. Two of the soldiers had swords and the other two had guns.

The two soldiers with the guns began to open fire. Tylor dived under one of the desks as the spray of bullets tore through the computer. He crawled to the other side of the desk and found one of the soldiers with a sword approaching.

Once he was beside the desk Tylor jumped out and knocked the sword away. Before the soldier could regain his balance Tylor smacked him in the face with the handle of his sword and wrapped his arm around the man’s neck. Tylor used him as a human shield and faced the other soldiers. They kept their guns pointed but didn’t fire for fear that they’d hit their comrade.

Tylor kept his arm around the man’s neck and put the sword in his other hand on one of the desks. He pointed his now free hand at one of the soldiers and yelled, “Firaga!” A massive ball of fire shot out of his hand and hit the man on the left. The blast knocked the man on the right across the room.

Tylor heard footsteps behind him. He grabbed the man in his arm with his free hand and threw him over his shoulder. He landed on the other soldier who had apparently snuck up behind him when he wasn’t looking. The force of the throw was so great that in knocked both of them into the teacher’s desk.

A bullet flew past Tylor face and struck the wall with a loud ping. Instinctively, he dropped on all fours to avoid being shot. He had left his sword Armageddon on the desk. He couldn’t get it without risk of being shot.

He looked under all the desks and saw the feet of the last soldier on the other side. He had to find a way to divert his attention so he could get close and take him out. Even making him look away would be enough.

Tylor cupped his hand and whispered, “Blizzard.” A ball of ice materialized in his hand. He threw it to the front of the room. The sound of it hitting the ground and shattering caused the enemy to look away, even move down the aisle to investigate it.

Tylor didn’t waste a second. He stood in a crouch and crept to the back of the room. He went around the desks in the back of the row and snuck up behind the enemy.

The soldier heard it when Tylor’s sword scrapped against the floor. As he turned to point his gun Tylor held out his hand and yelled, “Protect!” A bright green barrier formed in front of his body just before the soldier shot his gun. The bullet bounced off the barrier and hit one of the computers.

Tylor was now running with his sword held to one side. The soldier shot a few more bullets, but they bounced off the Protect spell just like before. Tylor reached into Apocalypse metaphysically to find the power he used when he fought Raijin. He lifted his sword over his head and brought it down to the ground. A wave of energy flowed out of the sword and threw the soldier into the large computer screen behind the teacher’s desk. The attack knocked over many of the computer desks around him.

Tylor found Armageddon and put his swords back into their straps on his back. He went outside and saw the students from before. “Take the junior students somewhere safe.”

The senior nodded and said, “Yes, sir!”

“Squall! Squall! Come up to the bridge. Dr. Kadowaki is here.”

Tylor thought for a moment. If Squall was going to the bridge it would leave the front gate team without a leader, and right now they could really use one. Tylor ran as fast as he could to the elevator so he could get to the front gate and take Squall’s place.

The Gardens collided again. The collision shook the school and caused Tylor to fall flat on his face. He ignored the pain and got back up. He didn’t have time to be lying around.

The first thing he saw when the elevator doors opened were the injured students sitting against the wall. The enemy had broken through, now they were just trying to slow the flow of enemy troops into the Garden.

Tylor ran to the front gate. An enemy soldier came up to him and attacked. Tylor pulled out Armageddon and parried the attack. He punched him in the gut and kicked him into one of the fountains.

He found Xu trying to lead everyone. She saw Tylor and immediately her mood was lifted. “Tylor! Thank god you’re here!”

“What’s the situation?”

She nodded her head. “Not good. The enemy has entered the Garden. Many of our troops are injured. We’re barely holding them off as it is.”

Tylor cursed under his breath. “This isn’t good. We’ve got to do something.

“…Everybody, this is Squall.” Squall’s voice echoed through the Garden. He gave a long speech, telling everyone that they were going to attack the enemy head on and encouraging them to keep fighting. Just hearing his voice seemed to lift everyone’s spirits. Once he was finished everyone had the courage they needed to begin the attack.

Zell, Irvine, Selphie and Quistis showed up. Tylor waved them over. “You guys ready to finish this?”

They all shouted, “YEAH!!!”

Balamb Garden lurched forward as it slammed into the side of Galbadia Garden. As soon as the front gate hit the side of the enemy’s Garden they all ran out and jumped onto Galbadia Garden’s courtyard. The rest of the fighting students followed them.

Zell shouted, “OHHH YEAH! We’re in!”

“Are you guys ready!?” Quistis asked.

Selphie shouted, “You becha!”

“This is the big one.” Tylor told them. “Let’s show them what SeeD is made of!”

As they approached the first wave of enemy soldiers Zell shouted, “Let’s rock!”
