1. Be sure that all the grammar is up to standard. Do whatever you have to do to post a grammatically sound story. (common courtesy!)
2. Try not to preface poetry or fiction. If you have to explain to your critics what the piece is about, you are not doing your job as a writer.
3. Write constructive critiques. Constructive posts do not include things like, "this was super dooper! keep writing!"
3 1/2. NEVER post inane replies just to get your points up. No bumping threads, either. Also annoying.
4. Before posting either your first poem or story, please write two reviews.
5. Try to post no more than one poem and / or story per day. Flooding the board with your works will discourage members from reading your stuff.
6. Do not be personally insulting or intentionally caustic when critiquing a work. Its unnecessary and tends to drive younger writers away. Also, do not take any harsh criticism personally.
7. Do not argue the criticism that is being given to you. It clogs threads and annoys the critic. Be respectful of others opinions.
8. When writing a review, always try to add in positive comments.
9. Keep reviews clean.
10. If your poem or story may be unsuitable for younger readers, please rate it. Use "PG-13" if language is involved, and "R" if graphic violence, harsh language, or mature situations are involved.
11. Plagiarism or copying someone else's work, is not tolerated. Make sure that what you post is your own work, or if you do use somebody else's words, always properly cite them.
