*finishes trawling*

And now I see!

*wipes brow*

Good luck with this guys, you look as if you've got some tough competition! Even so, I see good critiquers amongst you! You may have weight of numbers to win, or maybe just more guns...

Very scary. But, I know who you are... What?! D'you fink I'm a mug? Whad are you'a wiseguy? Very Happy

*words trail off into the darkness*

Maybe you guys should give out free critiques to new customers, so they can see if your critiquing is really top notch enough to warrant points. Smile

And I, like Claudette, don't mind giving in-depth critiques for free, so I really don't see the point. Confused

Can we request certain types? As in...we don't want line-by-line? I'd be willing to pitch in hundreds of points for character and plot things. I'd need a sample, though. ^_~

Interesting idea...but, hey, business is business.

Magicman and Claudette sound good. Very Happy

Anyway, what does Cabassi mean? Or CCF? Constant Crits Fmaily?

Um... oh yeah. I think it's a great idea, and regardless of the price, you'll probably get business from me. I never crit enough to get even near Featured Member, and as far as I can see that's the only use of points.

*cringes a little* I actually thought 50 points was a bit cheap for a real good crit.

Seeya around!

*The Godfather theme song plays in background*

The "we" is there because the CCF, is not just one singular member. It is an organization of multiple members. It stands for Cabassi Crime Family, which is part of La Cosa Nostra, which to you who need laymans terms, Mafia. I am its head. Sabradan, aka Don Sabradani. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Yes, you may make requests for certain types of critiques, such as focusing merely on plot, or dialogue, etc. However, depening on the request, it may cost more.

No samples are provided. You either want the service or you don't. Trust me, its the best you'll get.

As for Magicman and Claudette trying to undercut my business...I HIGHLY recommend you don't. For your sakes.

Quote:
10 points will get you a low quality critique.

Err, I'd change that. I can understand what you're saying but no-one should ever give a 'low quality' critique. Maybe a less 'in depth' critique, but not a 'low quality' one.

I'll agree with that.

Quote:

Simply Donate your Points to the Cabassi_Crime_Family with a message containing the amount you donated and a link to your work.

So we have to 'pay' before we know whether it will help or not? Do you do refunds if it hasn't helped?

It's a non refundable process. Just because you thought it was unhelpful doesn't mean it wasn't. It means you didn't read the crit properly.

Quote:
Quote:
The CCF works in a timely manner and you will receive your Critique within 5 days of your donation.

Ah. I may have misunderstood this sentence. You say 'timely' at the beginning but then say '5 days' later on?

That has to be a typo.

I'd seriously recommend bringing it down to a few days or so. I, personally, wouldn't want to wait five days for a critique Confused .

Everyone has lives. It's awfully selfish of you to expect the CCF to drop everything.

Quote:
Quote:
No one can give you the quality critique that the CCF can.

Nice persuasive marketing talk Wink , but unrealistic.

Everyone is different. I'm sure no one can give the same quality critique you can give.

Quote:
Overall? Nice idea, I can see where it's going. The persuasive points were phrased quite nicely. I'm just not sure if this will take off. If someone is waiting five days for a critique (I know you said within, but it implies it could be five days), then they'll probably get a free one during that time. People often ask for crits in chat, you should consider advertising yourselves in there. Muscle in on the competition! Hope you don't get bored of critiquing either.

It would be awfully stupid of the CCF to open a shop that they will get tired of.

Quote:
(By the way, this critique was completely free. Consider it a complimentary 'welcome critique'.)

EDIT: And by the way, you have a competitor that undercuts your price. Look up a bit.

How kind of you. Next time save it for the literary forums, Where critiques belong. A helpful suggestion, Don't critique posts in the lounge. If it was meant to be critiqued, It would have been posted in the Literary forums.

*bows* I mean not to undercut business, simply admiring everyone else's muddling around in this. We can all give critiques ^_^ But come on, CCF? They give the best. Totally worth 50 points.

Imp's a Cabassi, vero? I'll write character and plot crits any time....senz'altra, per i Cabassi. Though doubtless, quite a few have seen my critiques, yes? ^_^

Uh...wouldn't you think it's kind of pointless to have people pay for what they can get for free? I mean...I'd like to think my critiques are pretty in-depth, and free to anybody who asks...so what makes you guys so good?

Plus the whole thing kind-of destroys well...the instructor thing...you know...that group of people wearing purple that specialize in critiquing...just a thought.

Good luck though...or whatever....

Yeah, no offense, but I think us instructors are probably less intimidating. Confused

And, again, we're free! Who can argue with that?

So, let me get this straight-ish...the CCF is here to...do what the rest of site does...only they ask for points in payment?

Because if that's it...then well....

I don't think it's such a bad idea- who really cares about points, anyway? It's not like they're actually worth .000001 Euros, as Nate says they are. ^_~

So, it's essentially the same thing as all the people with the "want a critique? PM!" thing in their signature.

Granted, I haven't seen a CCF critique yet. But nonetheless...

I think it's a little useful if you have a piece that nobody is critiquing. I mean, if you really can't find something wrong with it, but you want to know why you can't get critiques, you have CCF read it and tell you what's wrong (which is most likely why nobody is critiquing it in the first place). THEN you can fix it up and more people will want to read/crit it, thus you get more crits for FREE. ...Which is the point of the site, as everyone has been saying.

At least, that's what I figured would be the piont of CCF.
