Basically it's what the title says. Stories from the heart.
This doesn't necessarily mean a love story, but write something that means something to you, but write it so that by the end of the story it means something to me too.
Pretty simple? Good. Get writing! Minimum of 500 words, there is no maximum, whatever you can write in two months.

First place- 200 points & Three critiques
Second place- 100 points & Three critiques
Third place- 50 points & Two critiques
Fourth Place- 25 points & One critique

Every person who enters will get one review automatically!!!

(Note: Critiques will only be for things posted in any of the fiction forums.)

Okay! Now get writing!!!!
(Either PM me the story, or post it here, either way.)

Good luck to everybody!
-JC

Results (Drumroll please...)

Fourth Place-
Daddy's Baby Ruth, By: Wiggy

Third Place-
Your Coat of Arms is the Lion, By: Baroness Ink

Second Place-
Toss-up, By: Sam

And For First place...

We have a tie. Dun Dun Dunn. Both of these stories succeded in getting me to tear up, and in the end I had to hand it to both authors, they did exactly what the contest was meant to do, they really brought out the emotional impact of the situations. So, I congradulate...

Claudette, for Don't Panic
and
Jabber_the_Hut, for A Christmas Story

So it's got to be in by July 26th? Just checking, because my school lets out June 14th and I want to know how long into the summer I'll have.

I'll probably enter this. I've always been intrigued by short stories in a "wow, I wish I could do that" sort of way, and I suppose this is just the 'push; I need to attempt it.

I'll enter in this, but could you up the prizes? =P most people also offer critiques. Points are rather meaningless to most...

Though I'm confused: so we have to write something that has meaning to us? Like a memoir, kind of? and while doing so, we have to make you also care about it by the end? Seems simple, but I get easily confused.

On a side note: the contest ends on my birthday ^_^

Happy end-of-contest birthday Clau! hehe.

Sure, I'll up the prizes, just like, add a certain amount of critiques for each one, right?

Well, it doesn't have to be a memoir, but it has to be a topic that means something to you.

Ex. Say somebody you knew's Mom died of cancer; you can write about cancer.
Or
If you feel strongly about abuse, write about that.

It doesn't have to be about you or anything, as long as it means something to you.

Hope that helped a bit. =D

I'm working on something for this, but since I chose a topic that is really depressing for me, it will probably take me longer than it would otherwise. Razz

Cool contest, though!

When does it end? Two months from when you started? So that'd be...July 27th? Hah. That's my mom's birthday.
