Just one. Is it possible to hold more than one job?
I'm a moderator, but I'm also interested in the job of instructor. So, would I have to sacrifice moderatorship for the job as instructor? |

In the case of Instructor, yes. You can be an Instructor and be a mod, or mentor, or greeter. |

I don't understand that question... This is a community of writers bent on helping, sharing, and providing an environment where literacy at an individual and cooperative level is a priority. Labels do not make anyone better or worst then the member with 3 posts. You are already a moderator, just greet and instruct, and mentor members. No one needs to tell you what to do or not to do.
Essentially, all positions of these you speak of become a moderator if I'm not mistaken. Is it not the job of a moderator to do all of those tasks? If you want to have titleship to everything you do for a community, what stops you from asking for a pay raise? I think you are putting yourself before the community you are helping, Griffin. Sorry if I may sound like a jerk, but your question is kind of useless to anyone trying to decipher Nate's new system.
Now for my question Nate: I like this whole system. Is it a growing one? As in, maybe new 'titles' become available? Or is this more of a training ground for future moderators? |

Not sure if I'll ever add more user ranks or not. Depends on how the site grows; maybe one day there'll be a specific rank for all contributors to Squills (which is coming back), and maybe a rank for graphic designers. Who knows? But for now, it's just the three new ones.
The ranks aren't training grounds for new moderators. They're meant to give those members who go above and beyond the recognition that they deserve, while also creating a more fully developed pseudo-government. I want new users to feel welcomed, and I want the site to always run smoothly even if I chose to go live in a thatched hut in Nepal for a year. |

It's so people can be credited and stuff -- Big Brother is not the only ones to run the show! (Or so we would like to think...)
PM him if you want a position. |

Does your writer status (like if you're a Novice, Junior Writer, Senior Writer, Epic Novelist) determine your elligability for becoming a mod or anything? Like, would an Epic Novelist be chosen over a Novice?

Not really, no.
Someone who has been a member of the site longer (all other things being equal) will be a more likely candidate, though.
Also, mods specifically (and admins!) are not positions one can apply for. Those one can apply for are Greeter, Instructor, and Mentor.
That answer your question? |

| Are there any specific things one should include in an application? Like examples of critiques? Reasons why one wants to join? Anything? |

| Why do some people's names go different colours even when they're not an admin/mod, etc.? |

| Where do you see that? Under the birthday count, any member who is the mod of a usergroup appears in green. I can't think of any other instance of weird color changes, though. |
