Killing The Pain

Thoughts and emotions,
that would surprise you,
frighten you...
Murderous thoughts
Flying around in my head
Why do these feelings stay
Instead of going forever away?
Murderous thoughts
Must be constrained,
Contained.
I want to be released
From this never ending pain
There is no longer
Anything to gain
By staying in this world.
Only pain and suffering,
A pain that is not real,
Surreal.
I look at my knife
And touch my arm
With a wince from the pain,
I dig it in deeper
And yet deeper still.
The pain that hurts,
Yet feels good,
As it should.
With a gasp of pain,
I throw down the knife,
Wondering if there is
Another way to go..
A way to stop the tears,
The pain,
From coming again.
I reach for some pills
And with a large gulp,
I swallow them all
I sit down to wait
For what is to be inevitable
For what will kill the pain.
Forever. |
