Jay- Z once said that there are 2 types of music: good and bad. I like a little bit of everything...that includes country, rap, and oldies. Though without a doubt I will listen to rock over rap any day. I find rap says all the same thing- all the same way! Rap talks about life in the "hood", and how tough it is, but that only reaches the small amount of the population because the majority of people don't live in the inner cities of the world.

Rockers come from every part of the country, and every place is different so what they sing about will always be diferent.

I mostly listen to metal, but I also like punk, hip hop, and I've been getting into stoner rock and psychedelic.

I mainly listen to pop/rock, but depending on my mood, I'll probably check out any music that makes its way into my eardrum.

I like any kind of music but country, rap, and heavy metal. It just gets on my nerves. Country makes me think of people dieing, rap is just people who can't sing, and heavy metal sounds like someone throwing a little kid's fit.

i absolutely love jazz, smooth jazz to be more precise. i listen to cool jazz, bebop, and traditional once in a while and some nice relaxing vocal jazz by diana krall and norah jones is nice to listen to at night, and i like to listen to new age music as well (enya, yanni, jim brickman, tim janis, keiko matsui, etc) but smooth jazz is my favorite above all music!

My favorite type of music isn't on there ( you know you need to include Christians in that ) I like Christian Rock . . . let me correct that; I LOVE Christian Rock!

Anyways I selected other . . . and I'm feeling really . . . not included. Sad

hmm... I listen to everything, I don't have a favorite type of music, I have favorite bands and artists. Then there are bands and artists that I don't like. I listen to soundtracks, ska, punk, rock, classic rock, oldies, musicals, classical, celtic, jazz, blues, country, rap, r n b, techno, dance, latin, you name it.

The top of my list right now in no particular order is...

1. Reel Big Fish (ska)
2. Flogging Molly
3. Bobby Darin
4. Joni Mitchell
5. Bob Dylan
6. Kid Rock
7. Save Ferris
8. Jimi Hendrix
9. Santana (cause he's a god!)
10. Kanye West

oh and that I've almost worn out my RENT soundtrack...

Oi, Kay Kay, not all forms of metal, or bands, sound like that. Some bands, like Rhapsody, are very well executed, and its a shame they aren't as recognised in North America, where metal is supposedly just electric guitars and people screaming their heads off. But there are some good N.A. bands like Symphony X and Dream Theater.

wow... I just noticed Kay Kay's post... a little harsh arent ye? I dont like rap, but you'd be surprised at the talents some have. Metal I cannot stand listening to, 'cause I have sensitive hearing, but there Are some good... and I seriously suggest if you are going to insult country, becareful of what you say....
