Tessa awoke from her pain-induced unconsciousness to find herself hunched over on her Saab's hood, covered in blood and small fragments of saftey glass. For half a moment, she lay still on the hood, disoriented, confused, and on the verge of shock.

How did I get here?

When Tessa regained her senses seconds later, she wished she hadn't...

There was blood everywhere - it flowed almost in streams from her body. Her head was pounding and as she raised her hand to her head she could feel shards of glass tearing into her skin like a crown of thorns........

"must get help... "she said groaning; painfully moving her battered arm towards the inside of her Saab towards her phone. it was lying next to her companion. not knowing if he was dead or alive, she reached out. Her arm searching for the phone, facedown upon the hood of the Saab, as her hand reaches deeper, she feels a sharp agonizing pain, she holds her hand up, to see, and there is a peice of glass impaling her palm. slowly she falls into darkness thinking "no.. not again.. , I...I.. I don't want to die"; it began to rain.

As she awoke once again she noticed she wasn't on the hood of her battered car anymore. She was now in a musty old house laid on a wooden table. "Hello?" She cried hoping her rescuer would hear her. But, no reply. So, she tried once more. "Hello?" She cried again praying somebody was there and her prayers were awnsered because a dark figure stood at the doorway staring at her. She began to have second thoughts about her rescuerer when the figure pulled out a knife.

James awoke to pain. Groaning, he pried open blood-encrusted eyelids and looked at the devestation with a vision dulled by agony. There was blood...everywhere...broken glass...and a curious abscence; racking his brain he tried to remember what had happened-- the accident!!!! It hit his befuddled mind like a bolt, jerking him upright and spurring a desperate cry from his lips: "Tessa!!"

Covered in a dozen small wounds and with one severe head wound, he looked half-dead as he stumbled out of the smashed car and fell groaning on to the gravelly road. Trembling violently, from both a sudden chill and a horrible fear that something had terrible happened to Tessa, he slowly-painfully- stood up and called out once more: "Tessa!"...the dark night swallowed his desperate call, seemingly mocking his futile plight.

Tottering forward, as if drunk, he called out repeatedly; "Tessa...Tessa..." and was always answered with an ominous silence. Now utterly convinced something had gone wrong, he screamed her name hoarsely...and was finally answered....with a blood-curdling shriek of horror.

Recognizing the scream as Tessa's, he blindly makes his way towards the sound. Stumbling through the thick underbrush for what seems like an eternity, a faint glow of light illuminates a cabin.

he hears here soft crying... and tries to scream out her name "Tessa...." he said gasping from his long run through the underbrush, bleeding from many thorns and branches. Exaustedly he collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath, his legs burning. he slowly crawled towards the door.

Exhausted and nearly bled dry, he saw the faint glow and the soothing warmth seething out from the door's crack.
The smell of warm butternut lures and dulls his senses.
Blackness swept over him.

The sound of another scream ripped through layers of pain-induced unconcioussness to bring him, gasping, back into the waking world. Hearing footsteps approach the door, his scrambled frantically to his knees, then dived to the side; to lie hidden amongst the bushes. The door swung creakily open, releasing a stream of light out into the forest, burning away the darkness and revealing everything within 20ft. That light was then, for the most part, blocked by the silhoutte of a man. There he stood, for moments that stretched on seemingly forever, before finally, apparently mollified the man closed the door and allowed the darkness to come flooding back in.

Breathing a sigh of relief and thanking his lucky stars, he crawled over to the window and raised his head to peek just above the sill; what he saw made him gasp in horror...

Boodly dismembered remains of the girl were laid out like a scientists would catagorize species.
Each limb in their own special jar or box, and each organ. Even the head was taken apart and catagorized. The floor was riddled with blood but it seemed like a pan was set there to specifically catch the life liquid.

his stomach doing backflips he threw up what food he had left in him. when he began to look up, he began to look down the barrel of a vicious rifle. looking up he saw a masked face splattered in blood; adrenalin beating in his ears, he grabbed the barrel of the rifle, trying to twist it free of the mans grasp, but he was to strong. he rammed the stock of the rifle into james' face breaking his nose. without thinking james kicked out at the man tripping him. James began to run towards the car, towards the phone. The masked man, got up and laughed, an evil laugh that chilled james and made him run faster and faster. Hearing a shot and then he knew pain once more; james turned around to see the man holding a smoking gun. James had been shot through his right shoullder rendering his arm usless, the man slowly walked towards james drawing a large knife in the process.

"I'm going to cut off your balls," the man said, his voice sounding hoarse and gravelly. He gavea laugh and walked closer to James... Closer... The knife raised...

James shuffled to the car and opened the door only to find the cell phone in pieces on the floor board. He knew he had no chance of survival so, he decided to go to the extremes and do everything he could to survive. He peered over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of the madman
and saw that he was just watching as if this were a game. James's pain entertained the man and every time he cried out in agony the man bursted out in laughter.
