Astrophel Explored

I was born a bastard child, and soon after put up for adoption. I grew up in a suburb near Cleveland in the great state of Ohio, essentially having two families. My adoptive family consisted of a mother, father, and younger sister, and my biological family was simply the two people who conceived me. Although I lived with my adoptive family full-time, I did get some chances to see my real parents, and I can say that both nature and nurture play roles in a child's development. I naturally discovered that I had similar interests and habits that my biological parents had, but I also would not be the same person I am today if I did not grow up with my adoptive family being my primary caretakers.

I was raised Roman Catholic, but for the past several years I have been very unsure about where my faith and spirituality lies. I can definitely say that I am NOT Catholic; as for what I AM, I'm not entirely sure yet. I do not believe in organized religion, but am almost certain that there is some higher power out there. It is simply my opinion that we humans cannot make heads or tails of it and, thusly, cannot base a specified religion on it. Despite these opinions, I attended Catholic private schools until my senior year of high school.

When I was born, my right lung collapsed, and even though no permanent damage was done, I had to deal with asthma until quite recently. This prevented me from doing something that I still would love to do at some point in my life, and that is to be a player on a football team (I've been told I would make a fantastic tight end). So, since athletics weren't really an option, I decided to go with the complete opposite; the performing arts. Until this year, I was an avid player of the clarinet, alto saxophone, and baritone saxophone. I was also involved in my high school's theater program and did a little bit of singing as well.

In January of 2011 I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and mild clinical depression. I started medication two months later, and now I am almost back to what I was before my mind crumbled. I am currently dating the girl who I hope to be the love of my life; we've been together since October of 2011, but we were friends long before that. I am currently enrolled as a freshman at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where I am studying English in the hopes of one day becoming a high school language arts teacher. Last but most definitely not least, I absolutely love all three of Cleveland's professional sports teams (Indians for baseball, Browns for football, and Cavaliers for basketball) and our days of glory are soon to come, I'm sure.
