An avid history buff who focuses on colonial America, especially the 18th Century. If I'm not writing, I'm outdoors, either hiking, fishing or just gettin' filthy in the wood. Since I was old enough to walk, I've been tromping around forests and walking down streams barefoot. The forest is where I'm most at ease; it's one of the few areas where I can call a second home. You could say I've learned enough about tracking, creating mental maps, and learning the fine art of rational judgement when I've gone off course. And yes, I've gotten completely lost before!
My experiences with Mother Nature was partially the backbone for Bound for Glory. Speaking of which, the picture in my profile is in memory of Welcome Garrison; survivor of the Battle of Minden. Welcome is also a beloved character of mine. :)
